ONR video demo

I do it all summer long. No problems.

Yes, that is Anthony. When his hair is down, he looks a lot like Howard Stern.

I tried washing with ONR in the sun one time, but there were bad streaks for some reason. I did one panel at a time too.

Thanks for the video! I've never actually seen the ONR process before.

So why are you guys using ONR? I guess the only time i would give it a shot is if they placed water restrictions on my city.

Most like it due to being a huge time saver: instead of 1. drag hose out, 2. mix wash solution in 5 gal bucket, 3. add water in another 5 gal bucket for rinse bucket, 4. pre-rinse car, 5. wash car in sections and rinse after each section 6. dry car. ONR lets you 1. mix wash solution in 5 gal bucket, 2&3 wash car and dry car in sections.

Others like it due to it being more gentle on the environment - dirty wash is not flushing into storm drains into creeks/rivers/etc. Instead you can dump it in your sink/toilet where it is treated at the sewer plant.

Lastly many like the shine ONR gives compared to contemporary washes.

We all use it for different reasons. I use it in the winter when it's cold out. In the summer I use a foamgun.

I wash using ONR almost exclusively in my detailing business. Unless a car is caked in mud, I use ONR.

As a fan of ONR myself (although I must admit, I mostly use it as a cheap QD for removing polish residue, and as a clay lube... After LSP I use a better QD) I understand how you would wash the paint on a very dirty car with ONR, however what I dont understand is how you deal with bad wheels. I mean i suppose i you only clean the front, and don't remove all the brake dust, but even on normal cars cleaning the wheel backs is just not gonna happen with ONR unless they are cleaned and protected very often. I speak from experience, because although I use a pressure washer+ foam gun on my customer's cars, my car mostly gets ONR and ONE and I have used ONR on my, and other wheels before. And while it is a very good wheel cleaner, it cannot handle serious brake dust. For exampl, every mercedes or BMW I have ever detailed has needed a strong wheel cleaner, usually p21s gel left to dwell or a long long time, or (I try to avoid this) megs wheel brightener.

How do you deal with german wheels using ONR? Do you spray them with a strong cleaner and then wash it off with ONR?

On a dirty car I use a spray bottle mixed to clay lube ratio to pre soak the panel before washing. To me at least this helps to loosen the dirt before dragging the wash mitt across a dry panel.

I have a question for the ONR experts.

Usually after a rain storm, I tend to have dirt and sand on my fenders, door panels and rear bumper. How would I wash this with ONR? Do I pre-soak my car with water, but that defeats the whole purpose? Thanks for the help.

I use a 2 gallon sprayer w/ 3 oz. of ONR as a prespray. I use it to prespray the panels and spray off any loose sand, dirt, particles, etc. Additionally, If I am using a dedicated wheel cleaner/apc on the wheels/tires/wells, I use it to rinse those areas as well. I am able to pressurize the sprayer quite well and have had zero problems with this method. If the car is really dirty, I use 2 buckets w/grit guards, and for the rinse bucket I add 1/2 oz. of wash soap.

I agree its pretty difficult. What I have done is to spray some APC onto the wheels then go ahead with the ONR. It rinses the APC pretty well.

What I have issues with is rinsing and cleaning wheel wells with ONR. Especially low profile wheels and some rear wheel wells that have fabric-like material instead of plain plastic.

Excellent vid. betwen ONR & ONE I haven't picked up a hose for quite a while. I have never had any scratching or maring no matter how dirty the car is.

Actually, I am a big user of ONE on my car because it HAS to look good all the time, it's a rolling advertisement. One thing that attracted me to it, is that it has loads of fillers. Not to sound mean, but you probably have a lot of swirls but you can't see them because ONE hides them so well.

Don't think I am endorsing using fillers by using them on my car, I would never use fillers on a customer's car, its just dishonest and wrong. But on my black car, fillers are just fine, and ONE does the job.

Interesting video, although I feel that he was not doing it right using 1 bucket only

and a missed up wash mitt, the bucket seems to have oil or something stuck in it;

I know it is pretty clean, but still it is a ferrari and should have not been approched that way.

anyhow, I use ONR QD ratio to aid in drying the car after air drying it first,

I found it does the job great as long as you spray ONR on the MF towel "not the panel"

and follow with a clean MF towel to remove any streaks.

In the winter which is very soon, I will be using the 2 buckets method with gritguards,

I would be really interested in a proper 100% safe washing method with ONR with 2 buckets,

Maybe scott could post one for us, I recall that white escalade you did 4 or so months ago

The wheels were pretty dirty before ONR

Scottwax uses the one bucket method and many other autopians do too.

Seems like alot of people are still more comfortable with the two bucket method. I used to use it till I realized that I was just wasting water/time. The one bucket method with onr cause no marring what-so-ever!

I just used ONR for the first time yesterday and loved it. I probably just converted to always washing that way now.

What is ONE? It's not in the secret decoder ring and I couldn't figure out what it was on their site?

I have never used ONR being a newbie but it looks interesting. I live in Michigan and in the winter the roads are always loaded with salt. Could I wash my car that is covered in salt using ONR? Wouldn't the salt on the car scratch the paint when using ONR pretty badly? I am open to any suggestions because trying to keep a clean car in the winter in Michigan is a nightmare!
