Ok, NC Detail Fest, June 30th!

Has anyone contacted this Zaino guy in Charlotte to see if he would be interested in coming and perhaps bringing some discounted product?

Ok, the weather still looks kinda ******, I think we may end up doing everything in the garage.

Dont forget to call me if yall have any ?'s, 671-9377

Alright guys, I have put a super clean on my shop, and seems like we got some food and drinks comin.

I am still looking at the weather, still calls for rain. I will probably move my truck to one of the other garages so we can have plenty of space for everything. Unless I decide to use my truck as a test bed for detailing.

I look forward to meeting everyone. Oh, and by the way, I will put a couple of signs out front that say "Wiggins Builders" on them, that way people dont drive by the house 2 times to find me. And remember, the detail fest is in the rear of the house, just keep straight on the driveway past the main house. Park anywhere on the gravel, grass to the left and grass to the right.

See yall tommorow about 10:00 or so!

You missed a good one! Let's see - for me the highlights were meeting everyone, trying wool ( and loving it!), seeing what the UDM could do, and the replacement for clay - I'll let Brandon write about that - it was his new product to try. It turned out really good, I hope we can do another and there was some talk of getting Majestic Solutions to do a detail event at their place. I know several people were impressed by their products. Thank you Brandon for hosting, we all appreciated your generosity.

I thought it was a great success. I have tons of pictures and even a little surprise "cool thing" that either myself or my brother (SamxP) will post up.

I've got some more time lapse vids on the way of the UDM and Rotary on the hood of the Dodge truck. In the meantime, here's a shot of the crew posing by our guinea pig...

Great to hear the meet went well, keep it going quarterly! I'd be interested in seeing what Majestics has to offer.

Well, all you folks who attend the NC Fest... With a lil sweet talking, I've managed to secure a GALLON of the CG ONE! Not for free, mind you. But, it's on it's way! I was told that ONE will be up on the CG site "soon" for sale...

When it gets here I'll try to get it on my G35 and pop up some pics.

* thanks Brandon for demo-ing the CG ONE! Amazing results!

Thanks for coming everyone! I am at a slow internet connection at my beach place, so it will be tomm. before I can see the pics and vids.

We definatly have to have this again very very soon, tons of fun and was a great time with great people.

Brandon, thanks for your generosity! What a great garage, and it was spotless.I'm still blown away by the change in the truck. Thanks to everyone! I learned a lot, and really appreciate everyone who attended.

Like Junebug, I was really impressed by wool.

The MG heavy cut was great on the UDM, which broke it down and was able to achieve most, if not all of the correction that the Makita rotary accomplished. But what the Makita with wool did in 1 or 2 minutes, the UDM took about 10 minutes to accomplish.

The "clay" foam block from Majestic was very interesting. No marring that we could see. I don't think I'll be replenishing my supply of clay.

CG ONE was wiped on a filthy bumper, and appeared to remove all the dirt without marring.

I'll report back on the durability of MG 21 vs. DG 105 vs. Victoria wax.

Did any of you NC-ers discuss on local options for Detail Products? I really only know of Duragloss & going to Carquest in Raleigh for paint refinishing. Looking for Presta/Wool.

SilvaBimma, I think I speak for the group when I say you should try Majestic Solutions. They have Edge pads - foam and wool, both the 2K and velcro ones. Their products are better and cheaper than OTC stuff. I'm greatful to Brandon for turning me on to the Pro-poly, Bug off, and Spray Shine. I like DuraGloss, but, MS gives a better value (IMHO) They also sell Malco products - an old name in auto paint care, and I believe Malco makes products for Presta - I'm not sure but I heard that somewhere. Personally for polish and compound - I use Optimum OP and HC. Next time - BE THERE!
