Ok, NC Detail Fest, June 30th!

Yeah, I will have some of my products up for trade.

Would anyone be interested in Majestic Solutions coming and demoing some products? I could call them to see if they would.

I've been trying to promote this event to other members in other forums. I suggest we all do the same. Enthusiast websites like the I frequent (SVTPerformance.com) usually have a small detailing forum that something like this might be of interest to anyone who would drive the distance. So we have any manufacturers on board to get us a demo? What happened to our Zaino guy in Charlotte that was going to come with some product at discounted prices? Can we get Megs?

Count me in, and I hope being a woman won't cramp y'all's style!;) I have a UDM on order. Hope that it comes this week and I can bring it.

I'll drive my white Civic, which gets great gas mileage, unless there's call for my red 1997 Dodge Dakota, which has LOTS of scratching and defects! Great object for a demo of skill!

As a Zaino user, I'd love the chance to see demos of the new products and to be able to buy without paying the shipping charge.

I've had some one-on-one conversations with Mike Phillips from Meg's. For him to come to an event is a pretty intensive planning. So, he wouldn't be able to pop in on-the-fly. But, last year, he was willing to bring the whole Meg's demo event to Raleigh. But, he was looking for 30-50 people and a coordinated agenda and for people to pay a $50-$70 fee for the demo.

Anyone who has any issues with gender or race of a detailer can kiss my *** and leave our gathering. As long as someone is not an a-hole, they are welcome.

Brandon,

What kind of air supply do you have at your shop? I have a pneumatic cyclo that I can bring but these things are MAJOR air hogs! It required 12 - 14 cfm at 90psi. It's actually up for sale on eBay because of that reason. I am going to switch to the electric version rather than spend big $$ on an adequate air system. The auction is over in less than 2 days but I'm sure I can bring it for one last use before I ship it off to it's new happy owner.

eBay: Cyclo Model 11A Pneumatic Dual Action Polisher (item 120134680085 end time Jun-28-07 07:11:45 PDT)

I have an air compressor that is about 16cfm and 140psi, but it's running funny at the moment. Right now I am making do with a smaller unit.

Ok so we have confirmed,

I will be putting this on autogeek.net and my tundra forum. I called Majestic Solutions and they said they would love to come, but have another event planned for that day. I am supposed to talk to the owner next time I go and he is going to offer up the Majestic Solutions shop for some detailing clinics he puts on each year.

What is the plan for Saturday? I was thinking everyone being here about 9:30 and talking about products and such. Bring what you like. I may still have that test subject lined up, but Sherri Zann may need to bring her Dakota. If we need a test vehicle, my moms QX56 is sitting in the garage and hasent been polished in a year or so. Minor swirls, nothing major.

I am going to confess, I can detail pretty good, but I am looking to learn about Rotary work and better swirl removal.

SamXp is also a strong tentative along with me. We will be driving up there in either his M3 or my 99 Cobra. My Cobra is in worse shape than his. Especially the rear wing and trunk. I have some water etching that I haven't had time to deal with yet. It could possibly be a test spot for some of the more aggressive products and techniques.

Products we would bring:

  • OC, OP, SSR1
  • EX, EXP, DG 105, DG 101, NB, NXT (liquid)
  • Moosewax Red Machine Glaze, QW+, DG AW
  • DG 921, Megs Final Inspection, etc.

Tools:

  • Chicago Rotary
  • PC
  • Cyclo 11A
  • Whole bunch of pads, LC CEVS, LC flat, speedy foam yellow, black, cyclo pads...
  • Wool and foam pads for rotary

Alright, I have alot of products myself, as well as a Makita, PC and LC 6.5" pads. We should be able to test right many products. I am really interested in wool pads for now.

Lets think about doing this from about 9:30-1:00 or so. That should give us enough time to detail and have fun.

Yeah, I'm looking into wool too, thinking maybe Edge Green and maybe Blue. MS carries them too. AG had them on sale - 2 bucks off, but then you have shipping vs sales tax. Hey, I'm ready to meet ya'll and have some detailing fun. Hope you don't mind if I'm an early leaver - it is my 17th anniversary and I ain't bought a damn thing - yet!

I may have one more coming (not a registered user or even an avid autopian) but he just bought a brand new Mustang Shelby GT and is interested in learning.

Brandon1's got our post here and at Autogeekonline about our gathering.

I've posted to Auto Precise, Club Lexus, Detailcity, DetailersClub, G35Driver, nceuro.org, and Infiniti Owner's forums. I've asked people to come HERE to post their RSVP for the gatherin'.

Hopefully, that'll drive some traffic to this post and get us some turnout...

:up

I'm 90% certain I'll be there!

And I've got recently hit and runned bumper we can work on. Yay.

I can bring all of my supplies for sampling.

ON a side note, anyone know of any good lawyers to go after this person (don't ask why I didn't call the cops).

Brandon, count me in, can't get there until a little after 10:00 AM, can bring the PC, Rotory and a bunch of products to play with. Also, had a family party last weekend, have a few extra sodas, I'll throw them in a cooler and bring them along. PM me with directions.
