OCW........Wow!

Some might remember, I was looking for a good QD to go over 845. I've been liking what Autopians have been saying about OCW. I finally ordered some from AG. I applied it to the whole car today and all I can say is, I'm very impressed. I applied a coat of 845 about three weeks ago so there was plenty of protection already on it. The OCW was a little difficult to work with at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy, just need two MF towels, that's all. I've talked about my car several times, here, on Autopia, but these are the first pics I've ever posted. It's a 2002 Honda Accord EX-L V6. It's got almost 94k on it. It's a daily driver and gets garaged each night, but stays out all day in the hot Florida sun while I'm at work.

Oh, and the best part about OCW? It smells like a tropical paradise..............................Like I'm on vacation. :grinno:

Enjoy.

I am going to have to get a new bottle, mix up my old gallon of it and give it another shot! I had streaking issues and spotting. I am hoping its just the sprayer (cheap). I used one gallon and loved it! Then v2 came out and I didnt like it as much

I've been using this combo for over a year and it's one of my favorite ones for metallic colors ... my only complaint is that OCW is extremely sensitive to humidity when applying it.

^^ Yes! I've found that out. That's why I had a difficult time, at first. The two towel method worked great, though.

I use OCW regularly. It is as easy as QD. What exactly is the 2 towel method? Are they the same type towels? I use a Cobra Shamrock , spray OCW on car and wipe off. Also I live in SC so it is usually humid. I assume more humidity is the problem.

Yes, when it's humid, it has a difficult time buffing off. It kind of just smears around. I use one MF to spread it on, and another to buff it off before it dries.

i live in sw fl. and i like using ocw also, i apply it with my pc and a blue lc 4" pad, just the smallest amount spritzed on a panel then when i'm done with the ,whole car i'll put a mf bonnet on the pc and buff it, it works well for me.

Yeah, great product.. I use a Meguiars QD bottle to apply it, gives a fine mist, and then just spread it out with a fluffy MF, can't get easier than this... If some dries on the paint, just hit it again with the MF and voila, it's gone..

Thanks for the idea ... I got an empty Meguiars QD bottle at home. I'll will try this out next time I use it.

Pretty much all I use on my own car anymore. Looks amazingly deep and wet.

Scott any advice on how to reduce/eliminate smearing when it's really humid out? Any application advice from a detailing guru like you is greatly appreciated:)

that is exactly what i do too. i actually use the bottle from their ultimate quick wax (which is very good too but no gallon size).

i am not sure if i will ever use a paste/liquid wax again hehe

:nixweiss I don't really have a problem with it. Try using less or let it haze and then wipe off.
