OCW - The first use.

Good review Rich :xyxthumbs

I think it is correct what you, and others have said - the "easiness" of the product application can sometimes work to its disadvantage phsycologically. "Its going on so easy and fast it can't last that long" etc..........

Thanks Peter - You have put into word exactly what I meant and was struggling to do!

Glad to hear some real world UK durabilty reports, my Clio has seen rain twice so that can't really be used! Will tray it on some proper cars at the weekend if I can!

Does anyone know if a Clearkote blue MF hand pad will be okay to apply it with or is this a no no like foam?

Cheers

Rich

I put some more OCW to work today. Cleaned my neighbors white Mini - I gotta say it sure does look nice on white and took all of 2 minutes on the Mini. :)

When you spray it, does it come out white or clear like QD? Also, is there much dusting or white residue on the paint? I am just trying to determine if it will make stone chips more obvious, and be messy to use.

Thanks guys...they just started carrying it in Canada, and I may try a bottle.

Kind of a milky white color and I haven't noticed any dusting or residue at all.

how's OCW in filling? will enough coats of OCW hide some minor swirls and stuff?

IMO OCW's carnauba content is not high enough to cause it to hide minor swirls. You'll need a heavier duty paste like #476S or something like NXT Tech Wax which has fillers.

is it the carnuba that fills?? or the polymer?

Can I apply to warm surface ?

Warm but not hot to the touch. You could probably apply it to a white car on a sunny day but you'd need to move a dark colored car into the shade and let it cool down.

Had another play this morning and a chance to add another coat, aswell as see the car in the sun.

Tried applying with a folded Megs supreme shine towel, a blue clearkote MF applicator, and spraying onto the panel directly. Found all not as user friendly as spraying onto a foam hand pad, and all to use more product.

Anthony advised against this method but i found it made it much easier to spread it around the panel before buffing?. On the scheme off things if I am not getting the maximum durabilty for me garage queen this may not be a problem as it will be a good way off at leats making the car look good after a wash.

As for sun, and warm panels had a chance to test that. As Scott says hot panels and direct sun ( on black anyway) you are better of postioning it so the area you work on is in the shade.

Looks wise car looks good, great depth and no muting to the metallics. The proof is in the pudding so..
