I wanted to let you all know that I won’t be putting anything up for awhile, I’m having my 3rd back surgery tomorrow! Thank you fire department! Be down for about a month, but will be watching!
Thank you for your kind words!

As a back surgery recipient, good luck and have a swift recovery. If you are not already in surgery do you mind saying what they are going to fix this time? I am also fighting with the VA to have my second back surgery.

Due to previous surgery for a fusion at L4,5, and S1, it has stressed the ones above it. Had L2-3 cleaned out 2 years ago, but now the disc is collapsing, causing weakness in the legs and pain. Now jack up the bone and put some more hardware in.
Thank you for the kind words!

Mi Hermano Miguel -
Prayers of Faith going forward for you, your family, and the doctors that perform the work on your back..
Love you guys, take care..

Hi everyone! This is Layna, Mike’s wife, I just spoke to the surgeon and anesthesiologist that took care of Mike this morning. It took almost twice as long as expected (which the surgeon warned us it might) due to issues working with the old hardware existing in his back. He had to cut some of the old rod out because as he put it ‘there are no modern tools that will work with that ancient hardware’ - sometimes is sucks growing old, but I certainly feel it beats the alternative . Thank you for all of the wonderful messages - I am sure he’ll get back to you all in a day or so.

Wish you a speedy recovery Mike!

And that your physical therapy goes great.

I waiting for the doctors to decide to do a major fusion surgery on me. It`s the same levels you have now done S1-L2. Where the discs are being replaced and to stabilize the spine. They still are afraid to do it since I`m to young 42 years old. Have done 2 surgerys in the lower back and 1 fusion surgery in the neck on 2 levels.

Hope your surgery is successfull and your pain goes away when you have healed fully.

Regards Tony

Hey guys - thanks again for the good thoughts. He is in a beautiful private room now. The new surgery went great - exactly as planned - the extra time was just dealing with the rod in the old surgical sight and I am sure that is going to make him even more sore - at this point they are still planning release tomorrow. We’ll see...I am just keeping an eye on the prize and looking forward to the day that I don’t have to see him in pain all the time.
