NEW : Wofgang Products

Has anyone posted pics of Wolfgang yet? Am I the first?;) I got my WG this AM and had to try it out. I did the "washing machine test" and noticed a difference, but not that much. To be fair the washer has never been a test subject before, so its not a fiar indicator.

I then moved onto one of my garaged vehicles with black bc/cc paint. It had had a "run-in" with a DIY car wash and foam brush a while back (please dont ask, its to painful) and I havent polished out the scratches yet. I figured this was a good test since they claim to fill swirls, etc on their website.

Even in the 40* garage the product spread very easily and a little went a long way. I applied both the polish and sealant per directions on the bottle, using the MF pad for the polsih and the foam for the sealant and buffing with the included MF towel. Went on and came off easily with no streaking. But even on the small test area I did, I did notice some dusting. I kinda liked the smell of the products, kinda of a "sanitary" smell without being to "chemically" or "perfumy". I dont like products with heavy smells.

I noticed that it deepend the color and made the black more black. The gloss was nice and the surface slick. It has a depth and a bit of wetness, but still looked a bit like a sealant as compared to a carnuba. Keep in mind this was in my garage, not out in the sun. So again it might not be a fair test. I plan to do either my wifes car, or my Honda "beater" this weekend to get a better feel and evaluation fo the products.

This area is untouched (excuse the condition of the paint, it doesnt look as bad in person)

This is the area that was done with Wolfgang.

You can see there was a marked improvement. However, it did not really affected the "true" scratches (as seen around the reflection of the flourescent light), but I didnt think that it would. Seems like a good SLSP (second from last step) and LSP combination so far.

I got my kit today , I am impressed so far with the kit itself and the whole evaluation idea. I like that Auto Geek wants to hear what the end user has to say about there product. I will be testing it on a few vehicles in the up coming week, and I'll have some photo's to post.

Let me comment on a couple of items, since it has been several days since the 1st coat.

1. Smell --- The Sealant is pleasant , but the QD has a cologne smell that reminds me of an old quick detailer "Auto Mist" . Not bad, but very heavy compared to rest of the line. The soap had more of a chemical smell than anticipated, but foamed up well.

2. Dust --- I found very little, and this is from a guy that bathes his car in Pinnacle everything (never any dust from them, so I should be very picky)

3. Second Coat -- goes on very quickly and comes off with complete ease. Needed no time to haze and come off. Heavy area's come off just as easy with a swipe of the microfiber rag. Much more forgiving then any other sealant out there (Klasse, Zaino, NXT , #20, Blackfire)

4. Finish --- this is still a sealant, very similar to Zaino. It has a very reflective look but does NOT look like a carnuba with the oily deep pool liquidity. Finish is still very shiny, and slick to the touch, most dust from road travel and parking blows off the finish naturally.

5. Pics -- sorry but I did not pick up batteries, and none around the house have enough power to turn on the camera. Mine is 1.3 Megapixels anyways but still would love to post them soon.

If you are looking for a product that compares to Zaino , you got it. I believe I had much better results with WG-C than with NXT but to each their own. It far exceeds Klasse Sealant in ease of use and time needed on removal. Durability, well its to early to tell. It looks like it might be one of the better sealants going, and could give Zaino a run for its money. We will see ..... :shocked

Okay--all my worrying about being left out subsided upon my arrival at work today. The Wolfgang kit was waiting on me:D

I did no paint correction on this. Four months ago she received PwC, EX, and S100. Harsh winter in SW Virginia resulted in a non-beading surface. Washed with Sonax, then used the Pre-Wax Cleaner using the mf applicator provided and finished with the Sealant with the foam applicator provided.

Pre-Wax Cleaner reminded me in consistancy of Autoglym Glass Polish. Used very little, per the directions, and let haze 3-5 minutes. I let one panel sit for 20 minutes and it took a little muscle to remove. VERY slick for a cleaner. Chemical in smell.

Sealant reminds me of a slightly thicker SG. Very easy to wipe on and exceptionally easy to remove, even on the 25 minute panel I designated. I have not used a sealant that rivaled S100 in ease until tonight. Chemical in smell.

The QD spray that accompanied the kit could double as an Axe-type body spray for when you are going "to da club." I suppose it is a "manly" smell but I would prefer a chemical odor to a Walgreens knock-off cologne. It was an interesting change from the oceans of fruit fragrance out there. If I were Dr. Wolfgang, I would have gone with a peppermint smell. Different yet non-offensive.

Neither "long-term" panel had any ill effects once removed (no streaking or dried product).

Lighting is awful here, but I am inflicted with Immediate Gratification Disorder and had to play with it tonight. After this test, however, I will try it with machine on the beater.

As previously mentioned by other testers, the deep look is absent, but it darkened the paint noticeably and in my opinion, the slickness is incredible. Filling capabilities are non-existant to slight (I think I noticed fewer swirls but that may have been wishful thinking).

Glad you got your kit. :xyxthumbs

When I used the cleaner by PC, I just worked the product until it was almost gone and immediately wiped off. Completely effortless. It is a very mild cleaner but worked very well for my situation (finish previously well prepped). The sealant is a breeze to use. I did my silver metallic daily driver. I love the results on this color. Very high gloss and reflectivity. Depth on silver "was" equivalent to a carnauba in appearance. Zero masking of metallic nature of finish. Seems to be a wondeful product for silver.

I will test on black as soon as my NXT wears off the LS400 ( which looks great now) some time this Spring.

Yes, I did everything by hand to replicate the usage of the average consumer. When I do the daily driver next week, I will use the PC and post user observations with that. I'll start with the orange pad with the cleaner. If that turns out to be too much, I'll back off to a white polishing pad. This stuff does get two thumbs up! Durability is the last piece of the puzzle...

:xyxthumbs Good review. The product seems very competant.

I'm concerned about the smell of the QD as you can imagine. :o

"I do have to disagree with comments made about the product line name though.

The whole german Wolfgang in oldworld letters and a coat-of-arms on black bottles thing is the coolest packaging Ive seen yet. It begs...nay, demands my immediate attention."

NozeBleedSpeed , I agree with you about the name you put it very well it commnads attention.

As far as my initial review , I did half of my hood which is silver and previously prepped. My first impressions are as follows:

Smell I agree with the type of smell others are calling it but I do not find it to be offensive or overbearing.

Application , the only other product that I find easier is S100. It goes on with such ease and come of easier, no rubbing no dust just wipe and done.

Shine , honestly I feel it brightened my silver and the reflection is just as good as Zaino and I feel it does not have the plastic look that others refer to Zaino having. Depth well I think this has the deepest shine of any sealant product I've tried.

I also did a small test topping it with S100 and WOW!

:D The silver just came to life all the metallic jumped right out.

If this sealant can last at least 4months then I'm sold on it.
