NEW : Wofgang Products

I believe when the product first came out and maybe still today, Mike Phillips from Meguiar's has talked about NXT being a LSP (Last Step Product). I'm not sure with the talk about the cleaners changes his stance on being a LSP.

In my experience with different glazes (VM, American Shine Cal. Clear Coat)...both have worked really well and I don't see any removal of either. Both are excellent combos with NXT.

How did you guys get a kit for 10 bucks?

There were a limited amount of trial kits from autogeek.net and premiumautocare.com... But I think they are all long gone...

I got through on Thursday, so I should have a kit sometime next week. I hope it arrives in time to use on a black Lexus LX470 I regularly wash. It is due for a wax. Black is always the best test, IMO.

Scott,

Let us know how the Wolfgang products work out! :D It seems that this is a great time in detailing history?! So many products to try to make our cars look better and to be protected better as well.

Keep up the the great job of reporting on how these new products work Scott! :xyxthumbs

Cheers,

Wow! Talk about fast shipping. Granted I live in Orlando and they're in West Palm, but I placed my order around 3 pm yesterday (Thursday) and the kit was waiting for me when I got home from work this afternoon. Can't wait to try it.

I have some swirl marks on my truck and was wondering if the pre polish applied with pc would be enough to remove them or should I go with SMR. Thanks for your input.

Well just got done doing the Vette. WOW ! Silver is a very hard color to make reflect, as the metallic seems to refract light and images. Sorry no pics yet ....

The wash did well and had something that helped beading of water, as car was stripped and polished prior to rewash.

The precleaner is similar to Pinnacles Cleaner, and seems to have some filler/glaze in it, as it made the paint look glossier. It goes on a little thick, but comes off pretty easy.

The sealant is very forgiving. Its best to put it on sparingly but larger amounts still come off quite easy with the enclosed microfiber cloth. By the time I was done with 1/2 the car, the foam applicator was tacky to the touch which seems to show the product has some dryers in it. (It mimics Zaino, without all the time needed or extra additives like ZFX)

I still dont believe it to be as wet looking as a carnuba. But it does look better than NXT did to me. (no flames) It really seems to do alot of what was offered. Dont know if it knocked Pinnacle Soveran off my favorite list, but it is as good looking as Klasse Sealant without the hard rubbing and knocking on Zaino's door as the "best sealant" going.

I am going to add another layer tomorrow, and will try to take a picture then. The most impressive result, is that it still looks silver. Most sealants (Klasse, Zaino, NXT) seem to make the car take on a white appearance, and I DO NOT like white cars. (no flames) I am impressed so far , and durability was never a factor to me as I believe its my hobby to detail my car !

Thanks for the quick review. It seems that Wolfgang is going to work well. I should be getting mine on Monday, which is my day off. If it's not raining and above 50* I might try it out.

killrwheels,

Thanks for your initial review!:xyxthumbs Please post some pics on your silver Vette when you can. I have a silver BMW 7 series and I would love to see how your pics came out! Silver is hard to shine up and have it still look 'silver'.

Thanks in advance for posting pics.

Cheers,

I ordered my kit a few hours earlier but I live in the Dallas area. Hopefully, it will be here Monday or Tuesday.

can you top the sealant with NXT??

I suppose you could but why? Topping options can wait until the product is evaluated on it's own. Besides, NXT has very mild abrasives/cleaners that would probably remove the Wolfgang stuff.

Oooh, cool. They marketing sounds a lot like Blackfire, but if it is easy to apply as well, then woohoo (though I don't have a lot of trouble with Blackfire)! According to my confirmation, mine is waiting on my porch as we speak along with some 303 stuff to try out. :D

Hey, anyone else think the name sucks? Wolfgang wax? But as long as it works well, that's all that really matters.

Wolfgang wax does sound strange, but Wolfgang Concours-Series sounds a little better.

BTW: Just got my kit about 10:30 the a.m. Tried it on the gas door of my car. Results look promising. Easy on, easy off. The rest of the car is too dirty to try it out and it's too cold today. From what I can tell, it looks like I will be keeping it in my collection. Final results to be posted when complete detail is finished.

I got my kit last week and applied the sealant on Saturday on the passenger's side of my truck.

Application could not have been easier, the product simply glided onto the paint. As soon as I was done applying it was ready to be wiped off. That was very easy too but it did dust a little.

The results is nice and reflective, no NXT-like color alteration, and the feel is a lot like AIO, a hard, smooth surface. It feels much different than Z5, for example. It doesn't fill in swirls (didn't think it would). All in all, a pretty nice product based on initial impressions. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few weeks.

Just in case it tries to get away from you? ;)

I got mine yesterday. Anyone not like the smell? The polish smells nice, but the protectant and the QD smell like cheap aftershave. The QD especially. The protectant seemed very thin, and I am very interested in trying it out. I think I might use it when I do a full session on the Aurora (though the BF/#16 on it still looks incredible and is still very beady).

Hey Bret, please report on the beading if you happen to get caught in the rain in the next few weeks. :)
