I found this at the Tractor Supply Co. for less than $10. It's a horse washing wand, for washing under their belly. But it works great for washing your wheel wells, undercarriage, roof top, and hard to reach places in the engine compartment. The water flow is adjustable, and it puts a out a pretty strong stream, even with my water filter/softening system inline, which restricts water flow a lot.



The valve/handle is cast metal, and the wand is PVC.



I put a quick disconnect on my hose ends so I can easily switch between my Firemans nozzle, Soap foam gun, and my new "Horsy Wand".







 
very cool find! that reminds me... iirc, there was a thread a while back, where there was a long plastic spray head nozzle (kinda looked like an elephant trunk) where it would work great to spray into the wheel wells, i've been searching and can't seem to find it... :(

It certainly doesn't replace soap and a brush, but it does help to get salt, dirt, and mud out of the hard to reach places. If your cars are garage queens then don't worry about it, but if you have a truck that gets muddy then being able to easily spray out the wheel wells and undercarriage is a big help.

Ah, that's something I was wondering about.



No, I don't expect it to beat a more involved approach (for the wheelwells *or* the undercarriage), but it still seems like it could be a handy thing to have around. I can always use it on the dogs if they need a quick de-mudding before I let 'em in the house for a more thorough bathing.
 
That would be good if you have a car thats really low to the ground. I have at least 5-6in of room with my fender wells though..
