4DR - - For several months last year I played with different products on the head/tail lamp covers of the roadster. I won’t even try to list all of the things that I tried, but as an example: for a couple of months there was Zaino on one tail light and Klasse on the other.I was only judging on appearance, since there is no way to compare protection in just a few months.
My conclusion was that it makes little difference in appearance no matter what you do. When they’re new you’ll be admiring them for a month or two and you’ll notice very minor differences, but when your focus turns elsewhere you won’t be able to see any difference at all. IMO it’s best to just use whatever product you use on your paint because it’s the easiest way to go with the tail lamps.
Head lamp covers are a different matter though since there’s no way to avoid minor “dings from insects, sand, etc. My solution for the head lamps was to use
Plexus for routine maintenance, and
Novus for dealing with marring. An easy choice since I’ve owned several rag tops and these two products are outstanding for taking care of the plastic rear window.
My current solution for the head and fog lamps is
X-Pel, so now both my front and tail lamp covers just get whatever I’m currently using on my paint - which right now is P21S or S100 or Souverän.
Those Hella taillights look great! :xyxthumbs
