New polishing compounds from Menzerna!

Menzerna launched three new products yesterday: Fast gloss 400, Intensive Polish 2100 and Liquid matt.



Fast gloss 400 have a cut of 10 and gloss 7. The "old" fast gloss 500 have a cut of 9 and gloss 5. The new IP have a cut of 6 and gloss 5.

FG 400 will eliminate P1200 sanding marks ultra fast and with a constant high gloss, according to Menzerna GMBH. Sounds promising, huh?



Oh, I forgot to say the VOC content is less then 17% and therfore it should be applicable all over the world. :woot2:

I have found Menzernas numbering system to be very accurate. I am most interested in the FG400. 10 for cut and 7 for gloss... Im excited to test this out. I have some FG500 that was imported from Europe sitting here to test out as well.
 
I'm curious where this news came from? There's not a press release on either the USA or the corporate/international site that I can find...

This is pretty good news to me as I am a big Menzerna polish fan (especially when it comes to rotary usage)...Keep us updated if you hear anything else :up

No, they are brand new and they are availabel for order right now, or it was released for order yesterday. Yepp, I am very interested of the FG400 and I am a little angry beacuse I did not

get any beta sample of this. Cut 10 and a gloss of 7 would be a huge time saver for those hammerd cars. I love FG500 and if this have more cut and better gloss, well then I think #101 got a competitioner.

Straight from Menzerna GMBH, my friend is the official Menzerna distributor in Sweden and I have met some of the people from Menzerna. I have also done some beta testing, but not these products.

Hi guys! FG 400 is being tested, the results are very good. Do you have started selling FG 400, and if the beginning, how much is 1 liter?
 
Just curious, but why does Menzerna have two finishing polishes with a gloss of 5 out of 5 yet, PO106FA has a cut 2.5 and PO85rd with a cut of 1. A small difference in cut for the same gloss, is there a special reason for this?
 
One (PO106FA) is used for polishing to remove 2000 grit surface defects, the othr (PO85RD, 3000 grit) is used as a final polish (burnishing)
 
Strange gradation of brilliance in Menzerna. If we compare the PF2500 (gloss 7) and FG400 (gloss 7), it clearly shows the difference in the first case a perfect shine and no traces of paste, in the second case, a hologram of the abrasive.
 
And another strange detail. Visual eye, and with the help of glossmetr is not possible to find a difference in the surface gloss polished with PF2500 (gloss 7), FF3000 (gloss 9) and SF4000 (gloss 10) ...
 
The 60° angle is usually used for paint coatings. The gloss value is determined by directing a light, which has a similar wavelength to the human eye, at a specific angle to the test surface and measuring the amount of specular reflection.



The optics is set in an aluminium block giving optical bench accuracy and stability. To ensure international standard compliance, the light source is supplied from long-life tungsten halogen lamps.



You may find your gloss levels are different from theirs as they are taken on freshly applied paint in a OEM production line paint test laboratory

I know the angle at which measure the degree of gloss. Angle of 60 degrees is versatile and is used to assess the degree of gloss enamel, metal, anodized aluminum, plastics and varnishes (ISO 2813 ASTM D523 DIN 67530 JIS Z 8741). And the angle of 20 degrees is used to more accurately assess the gloss to high-gloss surfaces (more than 90 UG), which include automotive lacquers and enamels.

And I have a three angle gloss meter, which I use to evaluate the gloss.
