New polishing compounds from Menzerna!

I bought PO85rd in 2006 and Im still using it. Was 85rd reformulated for better performance/results/shine anytime these past 6 years? I notice that the label is quite different from my old bottle.

I know the angle at which measure the degree of gloss. Angle of 60 degrees is versatile and is used to assess the degree of gloss enamel, metal, anodized aluminum, plastics and varnishes (ISO 2813 ASTM D523 DIN 67530 JIS Z 8741). And the angle of 20 degrees is used to more accurately assess the gloss to high-gloss surfaces (more than 90 UG), which include automotive lacquers and enamels.

And I have a three angle gloss meter, which I use to evaluate the gloss.

I’m not trying to dispute your findings, just stating the conditions under which coating mfgs state their gloss ratings.

If you fervently disagree with the gloss levels stated I suggest you take it up with the mfg

Yes. Perhaps only Menzerna can explain something in their strange figures.

Menzerna are the benchmark polishes in the EU.

Megs MF 'system' use a different type of abrasive; so you would not be comparing apples with apples

And you think it will be VOC compliant?

FG500 smells like it's all solvent.

According to Menzerna it should be VOC compliant in the US; FG400 was developed beacuse FG500 was not VOC compliant in the US.

are these new compounds supposed to be an answer or competition to the Meg's MF system?

No, totaly different animals. #101 and FG400 should be in the same league.

I have used Menzerna products for years, but when it came to doing my last car honestly I had to use the Meg's 105 polish for much of the cutting with the KB method... the powergloss just didn't seem to be doing the job.

What I meant, but evidently failed to write, was that the new fast gloss 400 is not a answer or competition to the Meguiars microfiber system.

Fast gloss 400 and #101 is in the same league; they should both remove P1200 sanding marks and leave a glossy surface.

Fast Gloss 400 have a VOC content under 17 % and is thefore, as I understand, VOC compliant all over the world.

Thanks for all the feedback. Really looking forward to using it in the future. M105 is too expensive here and a bit tricky to use.
