So I just got my first car, a 1995 BMW M3. Black, of course. The interior shows some wear, but nothing that can't be fixed, and the exterior is nearly flawless, or so I thought. It came with a spoiler, but I noticed that as I closed the trunk it would flap up at the back and hit the paint. Having looked under the deck lid, I saw that only the two front bolts were there, meaning that it was free to move up and down at the back with every bump in the road. I removed it and to my horror, this is what I saw . Does anyone have any idea what I can do? I was going to buy a carbon fiber deck lid sometime, but I'm broke at the moment. Therefore, there isn't much point in repainting this one. Can I try to sand it (the edges of the marks seem to be down to metal) and then just spray clear over it to stop the rusting? I could then maybe reinstall the spoiler properly to conceal the marks until I can replace the lid...
