New "100% cotton" viking mitts are NOT!

Yes, I too have been impressed by how professional and responsive Viking has been.

Hey, Viking, since you're about to get into the direct-shipping-to-customers business for a little while, can you take new direct orders?? Huh-huh??? The commitment your company has shown here has made me want to be a customer. How 'bout dat?! :up

I am truly impressed to say the least. For all those that whine about customer service, this is a good example of the 'good' companies out there.
:xyxthumbs

I applaud you Viking and your company. Many would have shrugged off these complains and accepted the loss of the elite detailers here at Autopia. You went those extra 1000 miles and resolve the inherited problem created by a dishonest vendor. You have my business.

Many:bow :bow and :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs.

Will this also apply to Canadians?

May I also suggest you correct the zipcode in your original post for those that don't scroll down. I'm sure many people will miss it otherwise :)

I just want to make one clarification to a possible implied comment I may have made. We currently do not know whether the yarn supplier in question was being dishonest or made a genuine mistake. That is an issue we are trying to resolve but it is compunded by the difficulty of not having "run-batch" numbers on our products.

Well, I have never used Viking but will use them now. This was aweosme and honest of you guys to do. Very very very professional in my book.

The test results are back and they solidify our worse fears.

54.2% Polyester

45.8% Cotton
:shocked :shocked If I were your company it'd be my worst fear too - 54% is really high!

Best of luck in resolving this issue swiftly, Viking. I don't currently use any Viking products, but I appreciate your candor and the effort you've put into this. :xyxthumbs

Hey Viking,

When the production finally starts up again and shipped, could you inform us? Im in need of new mitts and want to be insured that i'll get the new batch instead of the old. Thank you, and GREAT customer service!

Just an update - Called customer service deptartment at Viking 5 minutes ago and they told me to refer to Vikings post with the return address. The woman was very nice and promised Viking is doing everything possible to accomodate us and others and appreciates our understanding. She was lovely to chat to with. I must say Viking is top notch in their customer satisfaction concerns.

She also told me that they are finding out if the supplier was dishonest or made a major bone head error.

When the new mitts are being shipped to retail I will post a thread. The new 100% cotton mitts (the yarn will be under tremendous QC) will bear a new blue cuff. The blue cuff will distinguish the new era of mitts.

Can't wait to get them!!! I sent my return back

today. I'm a little anxious to get them, the

Pinnacle mitts I bought in the mean time will do

but they're just too small for my taste.

My hat goes off to Viking. I have been in sales and supply chain management for many years, and what we are experiencing here folks is very rare. The very candid correspondence he has shared with us is very very rare also. We should consider ourselves fortunate that we are dealing with such a class act as Viking. It is companies and people like this that make this country great. They deserve our continued and future business as well as referrals.

Viking, I wish you the best of luck with this situation and hope that it does not cause your business any significant harm. You deserve to be a profitable and long-lasting company, and again, I applaud your professionalism

You are the man. Not to keep bothering you on this, but do we have an estimated time frame?

i would like to ask the same question

I sent my mitts in and now I have nothing to wash my car with.

It's dirty and I want to wash it but am trying to decide to wait it out or go out and buy some 100% cotton fieldcrest towels.

timeframe a few weeks?

1 month?

3 months?

any ideas?

Go and buy the Baja sheepskin mitt at Target for $6. It works fine. Or the $6 Turtle Wax sheepskin mitt at Pep Boys works well too.

The leather inside takes forever to dry though.
