need advice on easy wax and dash care

First off, I want to get a wax that's easier to get off than the Collinite 476S I've been using. I was going to get some 845 Insulator wax, but was wondering if the S100 was a better wax. I'm learning from you guys, right now I only use 3M Perfect It Swirl Mark Remover as prep for waxing (any recommendations here would help too).

Secondly, I was determined to do nothing to my dash as far as protectant. I hate the shine that often results and felt that, since you can't 'feed' vinyl (it's my understanding that it is a non-porous/ nonbreathable material, so whatever you put on it simply rests on the surface), hassling with detailing the dash wasn't worth it simply for the UV protection. Maybe I'm wrong, so, since the 303 Protectant I just picked up for my tires seems to be as low-gloss as possible, how would this be for my dash (applied with a damp sponge to further reduce the chance of glare?).

Lastly (thanks for hanging in there), what, other than the small bits of 100% cotton, plush white towel pieces I use, should I use for applying waxes, etc? Thanks a lot.

For combination of depth and durability Blitz wax is a nice choice and fairly easy for work with. You might also want to look into sealants like Klasse and Zaino. For application of waxes, and just about all other paint protection products, I prefer foam pads. They give a nice thin even application (which allows for easier removal) and does not waste product.

As for 303 on the dash, go for it!! I use it all the time on interior plastics, vinyl, leather, etc. It truly gives the OEM factory look and gives great UV protection. Perfect for the concours line or on the daily driver.

Well, for waxes that are easy to apply and get off, then go with Pro's Expresso. It is a water based liquid wax you can stick in a spray bottle. Mist it on the surface and wipe around with a applicator. It is faster applying it this way than applying wax with an orbital buffer :O

The residue from it is very easy to buff off. Suppose to last around two months.

Profection is also very easy to buff off. I was trying that out this evening and the stuff practically leaps off onto the towel. It does leave some powder residue that needs to be dusted off. Suppose to last at least 6 months. I just got it so I haven't tested the durability yet though.

For dash dressing I like 303 Aerospace. Nice stuff!

I'll second this, and I actually now know how big a difference 303 is to other protectants. I got my car back from the body shop last week, and while they cleaned the interior they put some greasy, shiny stuff on the dash. I was only slightly annoyed until I stopped at this stoplight and had the sun shining just right on the dash. GHAAAAAA!!!! I was instantly blinded by the extreme glare off the dash (I really did scream too :p). My 303 never did that! I'm (finally) stripping that stuff off tomorrow!
