Natty's Blue or Red?

Looking to try another paste carnauba on my truck. It's Victory Red (a pretty dark red). How do they stack up against each other? Which is more durable? How about sun friendly? Easier to apply? I'm leaning towards Red since it's newer and supposed to be improved. I tried a search and found some info but I'm looking for more opinions. Thanks for the help!

The red is a "limited edition" so if you can get your hands on it you should. I've used both, but not on a red car yet. I'm happy with the results. Yes, I did apply in the sun and didn't have any issues. Just be sure to apply a THIN layer so you won't have any problems getting the wax off the car. Oh yeah the Red smells like strawberries and the blue smells like bubble gum.:2thumbs:

I don't think Red is Limited. It's just another marketing way to get people to spend money. If it was "limited" it'd be sold out by now. Unless their limited means making 10's of thousands cases.

Again, you can't go wrong with either. But will look AWESOME on red.

IMo for the pice of nattys red, you can get a nuch better wax. I like the look of nattys but it is the least longest lasting wax I have ever used (always less than a week on a car that is not garaged). Even the old crystal mist (when it was a spray wax and not a QD) outlasts nattys for me.

If you ask me, nattys is the most overrated carnauba on autopia, and I own quite a lot of carnaubas.

I'll preface this by saying that I haven't even dipped into my original Natty's (which I won) but I would venture that all 3 colors are more alike than different...and I'd go with whatever one you get the best deal on.

Natty's Red is like $20 a jar........what wax can I get for that much that is better?

If your looking for something sun friendly, Nattys is a good choice. IME, Blue has lasted about 2-3 weeks tops. Nattys looks great, the durability isnt stellar. The only other wax that is totally sun friendly off the top of my head is Clearkote Carnuba Moose.

For $20, there are alot of waxes. 3 oz. of Victoria Yellow/Red (~$30), Collinite (476/915), FK1 1000p/Pink Wax, Blitz, CG XXX/Danse Paste, etc.

S100, IME, is less durable than Nattys, #26 is alright, and can be had for $12-13.

I have #26 and it's good stuff.

I have some MaxWax (plus an extra jar I'm trying to trade off) and I got a screamin' deal on some Souveran (thanks Flatstick!) but I was looking at the Natty's line so I'll have a sun friendly LSP in my arsenal. I'm kind of partial to past wax lately but CMW is also a strong contender.....

Setec Astronomy - I agree they are probably more similar than different.

Oh yeah, thanks for the suggestions so far!

I have the Natty's Red and I have compared it directly to Collinite 845 (aka IW), Collinite 476S, and FK1 1000P. To maintain some continuity in testing, I applied all of the above mentioned waxes applied over Klasse Sealant Glaze (KSG) at the same time on different panels of my car.

I'll echo similar comments made previously about the Natty's Red - it is easy to apply/remove, has a very nice look, you can apply it in sunlight, and smells pleasant. I have little to complain about it in terms of it's look, but the durability of it leaves a bit to be desired - after 3 weeks in Pacific Northwest/West Coast Canada weather (cool with lots of rain), the beading has diminished perhaps around 30% since first applied. There is still protection present but it would not be something I would categorize as "long lasting." I would rate the durability of Natty's Red at the bottom of those waxes I tested...

Yes, the durability of Natty's leaves a lot to be desired. You can get a similar effect with the same durability with Meguiar's #26, and save yourself a lot of money.

Consider the Collinte 915 - Marque De-Elegance paste wax. It is a little more expensive than Natty's and a little tricky to apply and remove (if you let it haze, or apply it to heavy). However, it looks superb, and will blow Natty's away when it comes to durability.

Cool, thanks for the suggestions. I'm thinking Natty's Red is in my future. :)

On a side note: This is mostly for personal use and durability is not a concern. I do a few paid details here and there but I normally use sealents for those. On my truck I enjoy detailing it and can't seem to go more than 2 or 3 weeks without putting another layer of something on it anyway.

Then... for sure, I would go with Meguiar's #26. You would save a lot of money.

You are most welcome on the deal for the Souveran :2thumbs: . my vote is to use the Souveran, whenever you can. the Nattys is good also, never tried the red but the blue beaded like crazy for me. sounds like you have enough paste wax for a while.

Natty's has awful durabilit, very disappointing. The beading is not there either. Does anyone know the carnauba percentages of Natty's Blue or Red? Poorboys refuses to disclose any of that.

I'm really not sure what ya'll are hashing Natty's so hard for.

NB easily lasts three weeks for me with once a week washings on a truck that sits outside. I'm pretty hard on wax evaluations and to me #26 and NB are NOT on the same level. 26 may *slightly* edge out on durability; but it lacks in looks.

Crystal Mist can't really compare with any paste wax; its basically a booster/qd. It does work well at extending the life of your bas 'nuba though.
