Natty's blue hard to take off!!

Well i just got a chance to use pb natty blue wax today after i did my car with pure polish and ex-p (only one coat). I started to do the hood but i forgot to do small section, so by the time i realize it i was 3/4 of the car. I finish up doing the whole car and so i started to take off the wax with a micro filber towel, but it took so much elbow grease to take it off. I was so beat just doing the hood by hand so i use the PC with a MF bonnet, but for some reason it kick up dust which wasn't a big deal but i wonder if i left it on too long cuz that stuff was hard to take off.

I haven't had any problems with NB, it's actually extremely easy to remove with no dusting. I would guess that since you did 3/4 of the car and let it sit so long that is the culprit. I do one panel at a time when applying NB... I would try that next time.

I've never used Natty's Blue, but I've definitely used plenty of other carnauba waxes. Most waxes become more and more difficult the longer you let them dry. Generally speaking you only want to let a wax set for a minute or so at most.

I don't know about Natty's, but anytime I have had difficulty removing a wax and dusting during removal, it was because I had it on too thick.
My guideline: If you can see any sign of it on the paint, you have plenty.

There are three things I can think of...a) it might have been too cold... b)you put the NB on a little too thick ... c) the EX-P had not cure which means you were really buffing off both products, thus making it harder to remove.
EX-P , as is the case with most sealants, should be allowed to cure for at least 24 hours before topping.

My guess is you put it on to thick. Just barely wipe in on. I do the whole car and then remove because I work pretty fast but if you dont feel comfy with that do a couple panels then wipe off.

Also if you ever cant get a product to buff off paint, spray a little qd on it, then wipe off ;)

That is what I was going to say, if I was away much earlier.

I would say you put it on too thick. I've always done my entire car first and then wiped it off. It has never been a problem to remove although I can tell when I've hit a thick spot. The towel will drag instead of glide over the surface. I got 13 coats of Natty's Blue on my car as of now and several on my wife's and daughter's.

I recently purchased and tried Natty's blue for the first time. I was concerned that it might have been too chilly to use... In weather of about 43 degrees, doing the entire truck, I found that it was not difficult to buff off by hand.

I'd doubt that temperature would be the issue, at least not through the low 30's. I've applied NB a few times when it was low-mid 30's without a prob. In my (limited!) experience, the only times I had issues removing NB was when I applied it too heavy, which is a problem of mine. Ugh.

ok then i guess we've come to the conclusion that the Natty's Blue was put on too thick and a contributing factor may have been the uncured EX-P:)

SO you don't need to give Natty's time to dry up and set? You can just apply wait a minute and remove? The 1st time I tried I let it dry up and it was easy to remove. The 2nd time it was difficult.

No, Natty's should dry to a haze, but either applying it thin or using the "spit shine" method seems to make it easier.

I just did a detail today with nattys and I put it on the whole car then I waited 1/2 hour and I buffed it right off must have been put on too thick this is the finished car

There is a whole Spit Shine thread, but basically in this situation it means using a QD and mf to buff off marks. I've gotten my layers thin enough on PB products not to need it, but for Meg's NXT Tech Wax I occassionally need it, as well as Klasse SG. Spit shining as a process involves a certain layering proces with QD removal.

i had a hard once out of the few times i used nattys and it was because i put it on too thick and used a QD to easily remove the paste.

??? I'm stumped by this thread. I have never had trouble removing any of the Natty's waxes. Their ease of removal is a feature in fact.
