Nascar, 2010.....

So I watched the "patched" Daytona and the last 2 (the final this time DW) laps were great. Maybe 500 is too long, I have a short attention span, or we need more nudity somewhere in this sport- like topless cheerleaders for each team. I don't know if I can commit my butt to the couch for another marathon of cars going around and around. It's disturbing when you're comfy, cold beer in hand and all you can think is what a waste of time this is.

I here yah on the attention span. I watched over 100 laps of round-n-round no action happening racing and guess what happened to me >> Sleep

I woke-up right after they fixed that giant pothole and the 3rd half a the race was a blast :w00t:

I thought the race was really good :Swordfight:

- it was the track that used up three hours of time! :cursing:

Next week is California, and if I recall, no restrictor plates. :cornut:

Hey GEWB, thats some excellent execusion of the smiley man :wizard:

so I watched the Duel qualifiers and I have to say I am cautiously optimistic! The larger restrictor plates really made the racing better. There may still be hope for me. We will see how the race goes Sunday......................

Yes, I am still holding out hope 4 sure :toetap05:

I am just happy I watched the Nationwide race on Saturday, man that one was really good :Dancing Dot:

I agree 100%! I enjoyed the race also, especially to see how HUMBLE Jamie McMurray is! I really like that guy. Silently running in the middle of the pack most of the way, then BOOM! He led the only 2 laps that counted... THE LAST 2! Great guy and well-deserved win!;)

I know that there a lot of people out there who love Nascar, but I just don't get it. To me, it's just one big left turn. LOL:Dancing Dot:

Yeah, I'm one of 'em... I've just always loved cars and any kind of auto racing. Been watching NASCAR since the early days of Earnhart and grown to love it.

I really got hooked when I went to my first NASCAR race..... Whoa Daddy! FAST & LOUD!:D

I thought the race was one of the better Daytonas I've seen. The new rules helped a lot by allowing guys to pass in a single car. Still not a fan of the big speedway races. I much prefer the martinsville short track type.

I admit to taping most races and if I get bored I do FF through some of the action. I agree that 500 is too long. I think the nationwide at around 250 has it right, enough time for strategies to play out without taking the entire day.

Also very happy for Jamie. He has always been a great guy and a good driver. Amazing...... at the end of last season he lost his ride and not only finds a car and sponsor but manages to win as well. Great story. It's on of the things i really like about Nascar. In most sports your team has a 50% chance of winning. In racing, it's 1 in 43 so you kinda have to be happy for some of the other guys even if they aren't your favorite. (Unless it's JR.)

I'm glad Jamie won, I'm glad Junior was second - he made a great leap from 10th to 2nd in no time flat! This year I want Junior to win the cup, that'll shut em up!

I used to kinda like Edwards....can't say that now though. That was really uncalled for. Like Keselowski said....had the car ended up in the stands and someone got hurt....

BK was not totally innocent by any means, but Edwards should have took a swing at him after the race or something.

I can't wait til they get rid of those stupid wings. That was totally the reason that car took off. Plus the racing is better with the old spoilers.

Edwards needs to buy some boxing gloves, so he and Brad can "have it out" finally(lots of incidents between them). Brad does some really dumb stuff, on the track. Denny's got a couple of "paybacks" to give to Keselowski, from last years nationwide series. I hope no one gets hurt!

I read it was a 3 race probation - other words, slap on the wrist and a wink from the France minions. He still gets to race.

I don't get it, Junior got in deep crap over using the wrong hardware to attach the spoiler last year or the year before. And this asswipe tries to take another racer out for good.

I'm through, I can think of better things to do on Sunday afternoon, wife just smiled and gave me that look, guess who just got lucky ..

Yup, just probation. Just means he has to not be stupid for 3 races and he's all clear. I think they had to go that way because of all the talk about how the "gloves were off" this season ans they would allow aggressive driving more than in the past. Edwards took it too far but they did say that so they really couldn't hammer him with a long suspension.

I think Keselowski got off wayy too easy, after watching the replay where he took out Edwards at Talledega. Edwards car was TORN UP as a result, and the front end was ripped off, along with the grandstand fence. People really could have gotten injured as a result of that incident.

The wreck last year at Talldega was bad, but at least it happened on the last turn with both of them racing for the win. Edwards was 156 laps down when he took him out this year.... quite a different story IMO

Not my favorite driver either. You certainly cannot deny his talent and the dynamic duo he and his Knaus make. Add in the great team/funding they have and it's a very hard combo to beat.

That said, I'd sure like to see someone else get in there, Mark Martin being my first choice. Also, not a fan, but Harvick seems to be dialed in so far this year.

Honestly I don't think "dynasties" are good for any sport. Not sure I'd like to watch my own favorite driver win 4 or 5 in a row.

Looking forward to tomorrow's race though, Love that track!!!

I also really like Mark Martin, and no one deserves to win it all, more than him! The guy is humble, he plays fair, he's old-school, and he's paid his dues. :cornut::driving:

Harvick is a self-absorbed, Dale Sr. wanna-be. "Wreck 'em All". Can't stand that mentality.

Bring back WARD BURTON!!! Only guy to say sh!t on TV after a wreck and get by with it!

If I could have my way, I'd like to see Jeff Gordon win his 5th. The guy would have won it under the old rules - before the "chase", then I'd like to see Junior win it, just so he wouldn't end up like Kyle Petty. After that, I don't care, I could watch a bunch of ricers drifting and be happy as long as there was decent sex and violence added.
