My visit to the 3D factory in Santa Clarita, CA.

First of all, I would like to personally thank all of the people at 3D that made time to spend with me talking shop. With so much going on, the whole crew really went above and beyond to make me feel at home. The team at 3D International is really a class act.

I would like to thank Tunch and Juan for giving my Control Clips an opportunity for success. I am very happy to have 3D as my first major distributor. I am sure this will be an awesome partnership. This is the type of company I have always wanted to represent my product. I feel truly blessed.

Tunch Goren – In a word… Wow! There are very few words that can accurately describe the noticeable passion he has for his business, his employees, people, and the future of the detailing industry. Tunch is a very busy man and specifically set aside time for me to talk to me about my business, share stories, get to know me, and show me around his factory and offices. That really meant a lot to me. It is very rare that I meet someone whose passion about detailing and the business in general meets the passion I have for the same. It clearly shows in all that he does that there is a reason Tunch has been in the business for over two decades. Tunch is very dedicated to making not only his products world class, but he makes it a point to ask questions and get involved in the business side as well. I am positive that the kind words of encouragement and tid bits of advice that he shared with me that come from many years of his personal experience will come in mighty handy in my business expansion in the months to come.

Ben – They guy behind the scenes… We all know him from the forum, but he is such an awesome person, in person, as well. Very intelligent, very involved. He is the quiet type, but a very good listener. That’s Important to me since I like to talk a lot…

Mel Craig – Clearly passionate… Mel was very busy while I was at the factory. Meeting after meeting, running around, testing new products, etc. Through all of that, he still made time to talk to me and listen to my concerns about waterless washes and the perception of potential clients. Overcoming initial resistance is a huge problem in the industry with waterless washing. Mel and 3D are on a mission to make waterless washing not only the easier, faster way to wash, but also the best way. People are afraid of change. He showed me his technique and explained some facts about microfiber towels that I didn’t even know. Mel made so much sense in his explanation I was blown away. I think the addition of Mel Craig was definitely a smart move for 3D.

Thanks again, 3D for making my trip to California an enjoyable and memorable one.

To all of you forum members reading this, keep your eyes on 3D guys and gals, they have some amazing stuff up their sleeves! New products are soon to come and definitely impress.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Now for a few pics! Sorry, I had no time to shoot any video.

I will start another thread with pics from the rest of my trip.

I'm glad you enjoyed your trip Garry. Even though many people don't realize how big 3D/Tunch is (as he flies under the radar in many respects), he is one of, if not *the* most successful detailing manufacturers in the world. It's truly a pleasure to be a part of his team. He eats, breathes and sleeps creating innovative products and has the utmost integrity to doing so. I'm also glad he has taken on selling your Cord Control Clip as well. Good luck to both of you!

Thanks for sharing Gary and congrats on getting 3D as a distributor. I can't wait to start trying some of their products once mine start running out.

Completely agree with the waterless wash comments, a lot of people are afraid of them. I'm going to be using the product a lot more in the future as the water in Fort Worth is really hard and makes washing vehicles in the summer heat a major issue with water etching.

Hey Gary,

Thanks for stopping by. A shame we all were so busy that day and could not get around to trying out some new products with ya. Maybe next time.

We had 3 full correction vehicles lined up for Gary to detail, but he declined. :rofl Its not like he expected a vacation or anything, right? :fish2:

Anyhow, look for the Control Clips on our website and in our stores soon.

Ben

very cool! one of these days i would love to visit the 3D HQ's and meet the men & women behind the great products... :up

Great to see you are having a great time out there Gary. Nice that they picked up on carrying your clip also. Kind of the icing on the cake.:bigups 3D's entry into the waterless market should be interesting with that field getting more and more crowded by the moment.

Can you expound on these comments a little bit (waterless washing, technique, MF towels). I'd be very interested in what you heard at 3D.

I am currently buying some of the latest ww products to compare side-by-side. I too think its the way to go down the road. I never thought ONR would be any way to wash a car. Now I think its the best detailing product in the last few years.
