As much as I loved my old yellow Dodge Charger Super Bee, when the 08 blue Super Bee came out, I just couldn't help myself. So here she is.... my latest mistake.
Chargers are made at the Brampton Assembly plant in Canada. Then special edition chargers like the super bee go to a place called Ground Effects to have the vinyl decals put on. Unfortunately, they sit out in the weather for a couple weeks. Over on chargerforums, there's some pictures of the new 08 super bees sitting in the parking lot at Ground Effects with a deep layer of snow on them. Well, they must not have been very careful when they removed the snow, because my car was delivered with several RIDS on the hood, roof, and trunk. I showed them to the dealer when I bought the car. They couldn't believe it. They offered to have their detailing department "buff them out." Needless to say, I graciously declined their offer.
I knocked my halogen light stand over and broke both the lights, so the best I could do was to try and use the sun to show a bit of the marring and scratching. The scratches looked much worse than my poor attempt at photography would show:
See that "little" scratch underneath the bottom sun reflection in the picture above? The one that looks like it's just about an inch long? It runs the entire length of the hood. There were about six scratches just like that.
Also not visible in the above pics are the usual "new car prep" swirls every dealer adds at no extra charge.
Process was:
CG's CW&G by foam cannon
Zaino clay
IPA wipe (seems to make SIP play nicer)
Menzerna SIP/purple foamed wool (X3 in some areas)
Menzerna PO106FF/Edge white finishing wool
IPA wipe
Zymol HD-Cleanse
Zymol Vintage
I know you guys are getting sick of seeing pics of my Charger, so I promise these will be the last ones. I just had to post the new car, though!
