My latest mistake...

Sweet looking car for a Mopar..LOL...

J/K- That car is hot looking.I just read an article about the Challenger coming out.It looks sweet too.Chrysler has done some fantastic things with their car lineup.

Congrats on the sweet ride and awesome job on the paint correction.:bigups

Wow just beautiful. The Charger's being redesigned in '09 right? I hope it looks even better than the current generation(the Super Bee is such an awesome car).

I love when brand new cars come with scratches! :wall

That SIP is some good stuff! It came out nice.

I like the wheels with the black painted inserts that come on the new SRT8's.

those wool pads are from Ag right?

great job deff shows off the vintage much better than the yellow

I did get both the purple foamed wool and the complete Edge line of wool from Autogeek. I have the smaller sized Edge double sided wool pads. Last time I looked for them on AG, they weren't listed. You have to call and talk to someone to order them. I love the smaller size. There's not many places I can't reach with them, yet they still have enough surface area for hoods, etc.

I just put the second coat of Vintage on last night. I should have waited to take the pics til after the second coat. It looks so much deeper and glossier. So much so, that I think I may have some more polishing work to do. I haven't hit RyDawg level of gloss yet. :)

Thank you, Sir! :)

The rumor is that the Charger will be redesigned for either the 09 or 10 model year. Apparently the 09 mules are rolling off the Brampton Assembly plant right now, but I haven't seen any spy pictures of them yet. Sheesh, I hope I don't have to buy *another* Charger next year!

Thanks! Yeah, the new wheels are alot less work to maintain and the black inserts hide the huge amounts of brake dust the Brembos kick out.

So what did you do with the yellow one? That one sure was weet and so is this one.

I sold the yellow one. :( And my wife is probably never going to let me live it down. When I first got the yellow one, she said, and I quote, "I can't believe you bought a yellow car! That's the most hideous thing I've ever seen!" Then she fell in love with it. Women... go figure. :p

Never seen that color for those beasts in these parts. Very schwing! :bigups

You may see one or two, but hopefully no more than that. :) Each year, they make 1k Super Bees in that year's Super Bee color. 07 was yellow, 08 is "B5" blue, and nothing but rumors so far for 09. Some people are saying white, others black with yellow stripes.

I really appreciate all the comments, everyone. It's so good to be back! :D

I am a huge Mopar fan (recently converted) and I love that color. Correct me if I am wrong but isn't that the same color Richard Petty had on his Charger in the 70's? They had one of those at a dealership here that didn't last long. A lot shorter than the Plum Crazy one and the Sublime one they had last year. Where we bought my wife's Nitro they had a Charger on the showroom customized by Chip Foose.

I want one of the new Challenger SRT 8 Hemi Orange so bad I can taste it. Believe me gasoline doesn't taste so good. We had the auto show about two weeks ago and I asked how come they didn't bring the Challenger and they said they had planned to but it got damaged in shipping. :usa

I guess for my Mopar experience I will have to stick with the wife's Nitro until I get my Ram. :LOLOL I wish they would bring back an SRT for the Ram. I heard they might but it may not be a 8.3L V10 but possibly bigger than the 6.1 V8.

Eh?

I live in Brampton, ON Canada and just happen to live close to both Chrysler and Ford plants. I am not surprised this happens to you because both manufactures just dump their newly finished cars onto huge parking lots and they sit there until they have to be delivered to dealerships.

I see them all the time when I'm either going to Church (Chrysler) or going to the mall (Ford).

The "B5" blue of the current super bees is a metallic blue that is quite a bit darker than Richard Petty Blue. Petty Blue is more of a baby blue. Did you happen to see the kid's animated movie, "Cars"? That is Richard Petty Blue. Everyone was wishing for Petty Blue for the Bees, but for some reason Dodge went with the darker metallic blue.

Oh yeah, the new Challengers are sweet, for sure! At the dealership I bought my bee at, the guy told me the had been alloted two SRT8 Challengers for this year. One black and one orange. They were both already sold for 30 grand over sticker. Considering sticker on a fully loaded Challenger is about 37k, they are selling for almost double MSRP. Wow. The dealer is going to call me when the first Challenger comes in so I can go snap some pics.

Surprisingly, they also had an UNSOLD Green 2008 Viper convertible on the show room floor. I was shocked, cause I was under the impression that dealers couldn't order a Viper unless it was sold in advance, but there it was. They're selling it for sticker. I don't really care too much for the green, though. I'm 6'2" and while I could sit in the convertible Viper with the top up and not hit my head, the windshield doesn't go up far enough. Imagine driving your current car with the sun visor all the way down. That's how the Viper is for me. : / Beautiful car, though.

They had a dealer representative at the car show where all the Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodges came from and he said they had sold two and that they will arrive in May or June. They will be on the showroom until picked up. I didn't ask what the purchase price was.

I have never seen a Viper on the showroom either. I was like you and thought they had to be pre-ordered.

Congratulation on your nice mistake . Love the blue color . Like other autopians I would love to see more pics in the future . Never get tired of looking at sex on wheels .

Cheers , Jean Paul

LoL, my wife and I just saw that movie two night ago. Great show... surprised it didn't do better at the box office. What I really like was that the shots of the instrument gauge cluster really were the gauge cluster of an SRT8 Charger. The rest of the movie was pretty good, too. ;)

Ah, I was just gonna ask if they still called that "B5" :D I really like that color, better than the yellow (and I had a yellow MOPAR way back when). Congrats on the new car, and I really would much rather have that than a Viper for a "real" driver.

Still finishing with that Edge wool, huh? Sure does look nice...

I have to admit, I'm only using the white finishing wool on hard clear coats. There's been a few cars with softer clears that I just couldn't get to finish down well with the wool. Had to switch to either white or grey LC foam.

I currently have a customer's Suburban in the garage. I'm finishing half the hood with the white finishing wool, and the other half with white LC foam. I'm going to post a few "guess which is which" pics when it's done. It is kind of a "ringer" test, though, since the GM clear is so freaking hard, it's really easy to put a great shine on it with the white finishing wool. In fact, it finishes down *much* faster than foam on hard clears. Just about half the time is needed for the same shine.

I'm out of PO106FF, so I'm revisiting the Einszett Hochglanz for this one, too.

Ah, well, most of my vehicles have hard clear (including my Denali XL, about as close to that Suburban as you can get). And I have the 1Z High Gloss too (just sorta being a contrarian as I always like 1Z stuff and everybody else is going with 3M Ultrafina :D ).

I gotta wonder though: I'd compare the Edge Lambswool with a LC *finishing* pad instead of their white foam

I had some problems last year with my LC black finishing pads... the velcro seperated from the back of the pad. I had this happen with a few other pads besides the black ones, too. I think they must have had a bad batch or something.

I've been meaning to call Terry at properautocare and get them replaced, but it's been such a long time now I doubt they will. So I'm stuck with white as being my finishing pad for now. I've been using the wool so much that it hasn't been a priority to get the foam pads replaced.

Seems like I'm never done buying stuff. :)

Oh, btw.... So far the 1Z Hochglanz is doing a great job. I had some real problems with it the last time I used it, but it turns out it I was using it completely wrong. Turns out that the directions on the bottle were completely correct (whodathunkit?); Hochglanz likes low rpms. As long as you keep it under 1k rpm, the stuff works very well. Has a nice working time and produces a fantastic finish. It also doesn't leave an oily residue like 106 does. At half the price of 106, the stuff is a bargain.
