My detailing future is uncertain..

JB,

I hope and wish you the best regarding your back pain. I myself am dealing with low back pain also, I am irritating a nerve as I have pain down my left leg, and it is difficult to walk at times and the mornings are tough. However, I do sit most of the day at work, and I have found that movement helps me DRAMATICALLY. Once I get moving around, i.e. detailing of the gym, I start to feel much better in my back. In fears of having spinal disc related issues in the future, and to help my back relax, and disc restore their height and pressure release, I ended up biting the bullet and bought a Teeter Hang-Up, inversion table at Dick's Sporting Goods last Monday. I'm rather tall, so I figure logically at the very least this can help my disc restore in height and maintain my height throughout my future.. No miracles yet, but I am getting used to it and starting to like using it a lot. Even a short time, a few minutes if that, just so I can feel my low back relax (you can feel the pain dissipate) on there make me feel better overall.

And rest, this works wonders in conjunction with will power to overcome your ailment(s).

Junebug, sorry to hear and I hope you get to feeling better soon with some treatment. Fortunately I must've inherited my Mom's back because my Dad has been scorned most of his life with back problems. While I can't directly relate I know what my Dad goes through and I wish the best for you.

Sorry to hear about the back problems JB. I am also a BIG believer in Chiropractors. They have done some remarkable things ofr my wife.

Don't worry about the detailing for now. Just get better.

*I'm Sorry...*

Hello JB/
I'm hoping all goes well for you,and the Doc's can help,if you
decide to go that route.I know it's not something that just goes
away,so I hope *The Best For You* in the coming days...

Thanks guys, I appreciate ya'll taking the time to write and I'm thinking about what my options are. I have been off the computer since my wife (who pays for our internet time) turned off the Sprint Card since we were over for the month. It feels good to be back and read TID, I'm feeling a lot better today, I think the treatment my regular doc has me on is working. My concern is to make sure I get well, and make sure I don't injure my back again. My wife is going with me and we're going to get answers tomorrow.

Todd - I've had 2 good friends that had shoulder surgury and both said it was well worth it!

GREAT NEWS!

The neurosurgeon looked at my MRI, gave me a few tests in the exam room - basic walking and movement, checked my reflexes, and poked my back a bit - the result - I'm going to be fine. The treatment I was on is working. He said I need to lose weight (yeah, I know!) and do some physical theraphy to strengthen my core. Otherwise: I'm a fat, middle age f...er that needs to change my ways!

Thank you all for the support and kind words. I want to just add, please take care of yourself, you have a lot to live for and people depending on you.

Glad to hear you're going to be alright. I think all of us middle age folks need to lose weight, do more exercise, eat better, blah, blah blah.......
I'll start tomorrow!

Great news Jimmy James!

Jimmy,
I am glad to hear things are turning your way. LISTEN to your doctor. I know we all have a tendency to blow off what they tell us, but the older I get the more I pay attention to what my doctor tells me... :sarge

Excellent news. Yes, being overweight can be extremely detrimental to the spine! I know because 3 months ago I weighed in at 310 and everything I did hurt... my back, knees, hips, climbing stairs, detailing.... EVERYTHING!

Take a look at my "Weight Loss Thread" and jump on the bandwagon with me. I'm down to 249 and I've never felt better!:cornut:
