Most recognized guitarist !!!!

When you say most recognized Hendrix comes to mind in part due to his unfortunately young death. His career was short enough that his appearance didn't change radically and his exposure from Woodstock is a vision a lot of people have in their mind.

Eric Clapton and many others have been around so long that their appearances have changed as they got older. It would depend on what stage of their career they were in if they'd be recognized by a non-fan.

So for the second name I'll go with Roy Clark. I think his years on television have made him one of the most recognizable guitarists to the general public.

My personal two favorites would be Hendrix and Henry Vestine a.k.a. "The Sunflower" from Canned Heat. R.I.P.

Johnny Cash.... Grandparents to young punk rockers can identify this legend....

Jimmy Hendrix no doubt also.......

Eric Clapton would have to be in contention....

Hail to my fav UN-recognized guitarist...the late Danny Gatton !!

Nobody mentioned Angus Young from AC/DC yet have they? He's pretty easy to recognize. How about Scott Ian from Anthrax? He's pretty easy to recognize too. Especially if you watch any of those VH1 hard rock shows, he's on everyone of them.

I think as far as guitarists alive today, Slash would be one of the most recognized if he was just walking down the street.

No one has mentioned Prince yet. He is pretty recognizable, and he is pretty good on the guitar.

And he can shoot some ball, as evidenced on the Chappele Show.

Did any body sat John Lennon? I can't think That any person of any age would'nt be able to John lennon if they were shown a picture of him.
