Most Durable Sealant?

I'm new to understanding sealants and wanted to get opinions as to which sealant is the most durable? Set aside the high gloss and best looks (think of it as an added bonus). I'm primarily concerned about durability to withstand the winters here in PA an the massive amounts of salt they throw on the roads. I'm looking for something that will last several months to get me through the winter.

I am interested to hear opinions as well.

I have heard good things about Zaino Z2(I use it and it seems to be holding very nicely).

I would like to try one more as well in the arsenal of supplies. I am thinking FMJ.

The sealants with long track records for durability are Zaino and Klasse. Neither one needs a topper for great durability. Zaino's plus is its appearance and ability to stay apparently clean (light colors) for a long time.

I personaly trust my for all weather conditions daily driver (Escalade) to Zaino.

Both of these products will give you the option to wax when you want to rather than when you must. :xyxthumbs

I agree with the above. I've used KSG and Zaino. Zaino is has excellent durability. It also has a an awesome look to it as well. KSG has a good durability but not as much as Z. I oersonally prefer the Look of Z over KSG anyhow. Plus Z has a whole line of interchangable products that work great together. Actually the Z works so well that sometimes I get bored because there is nothing to wax. Thats when I put another coat on for the hel of it!!! :dance

Depends... HOw often do you feel the urge to top it.... If you top weekly anything will work, monthly again they will all work well for you, bi monthly then again anything will equal out. After 2 months though here is where quality IMO differs.

After 2 months

IMO WG needs another coat

IMO NXT needs another coat

Heck actually IMO everything IMO needs another coat after 2 months.

If I had to choose one I would use PB EX topped with #16 2 months later re-top with #16 AGH, forget it I am not a good source. I live in FL, we top daily here. It was 81 yesterday.

Now hows is bonding of Zaino on top of Menzerna FP II followed by FMG?

I am thinking of doing in that sequence.

Menzerna FPII

FMG

Zaino.

Sorry for the slight thread hi-jack.

Cheers

My vote is for Zaino. Although garaged, due to family illness, my 91 red Reatta received its last coat of Zaino Z-2 last fall. It was washed occasionally (not since August) with Zaino carwash. Driven regularly and yesterday in the rain and ice here in piedmont NC, she still beaded nicely.

Zaino Z-2 Pro ? is that a sealant or polish ? i get confused with all the Z's

Zaino Z-2 Pro is a sealant. I think the only "true" polish Zaino has, despite its name is Z-PC.

orignal z2 going 10 months on our accord, washed it yesterday and was beading like crazy :) this was clay, sonus paintwork cleanser, z1, z2, then another coat of z2 a day later and never touched since. pretty impressive stuff if you ask me.

I should also add that besides durability, it needs to be long lasting. Probably 5 months or better (November-March is generally the salt time in PA).

Here's what I've used.......

Zaino Z2 Pro

Klasse AIO

Blackfire

4 Star UPP

4 Star UPPS

Liquid Glass

Meg's NXT Tech

In my opinion :xyxthumbs Z2 Pro is superior to any of the above listed products...

The ultimate sealant test for longevity and durability is WATER BEADING..... it's real simple. Do half your hood in one product, and half your hood in another. The one that beads the longest wins! Then judge for yourself...

But don't use any toppers, QD's, car washes with wax in them, wax additive at the coin-op wash, etc.
