More "wax stripping" BS

Old Pirate- That`s cool that you got a sort of sneak-preview of clay! Did it make you want to start claying or did it strike you as something goofy?

if you want to strip the wax off of your car, why not use the same detergent that you use to wash you wax pads ?

just a thought

The stuff that really works to clean pads is too expensive to use to strip down your vehicle..

Everyone can say what they want but until you actually saw a Zaino Rep`s vehicle with the zillion layers of Z-2 and Z-5, looking like it had a huge layer of clear coat on it, there my friends was the original Sealant/Coating in its infantile stages..

And every Rep said the same thing - Wash your vehicle down really good with Dawn Dish Soap, Claybar it with Zaino Red Clay, polish it to get it where you want the clarity and gloss to be, and coat it with Z2 or Z5 or a combo..

And their own personal vehicles treated this way looked amazing all the time..

And I am also on board with Anthony O. - waxes are only very temporary and the hotter it gets the quicker they go away...

I ordered some CG Clean Slate and have an experiment in mind to test it. I had some residual money from a GC and took advantage free shipping. I also picked up some Mothers VLR.

I may get the Adam`s and do a comparison. In my experience for the look alikes Adam ounce for ounce always out performed CG.

If you grab the Adam`s I`d love to hear your thoughts. I tried Clean Slate neat right out of the bottle on Jet Seal, WG DGPS 3.0, Meguiar`s M21 2.0, and Ultimate Liquid Wax. ULW is the strongest beading LSP out of the group, very strong performance remaining. DGPS held up very well, followed by M21 and Jet Seal. Jet Seal was the most affected, but it`s the least aggressive of the four with just a water rinse at the very start. None of them were at the level of the water behavior after polishing and a quick wash. I quickly realized at the recommended 1oz per 5 gallon ratio how little impact Clean Slate seemed to be having on the paint. Again, everything is freshly applied, CG does mention the removal of "old" waxes and sealants.

Had the new Fuzion Spray Wax topped up on the paint after a waterless wash with Pinnacle Liquid Crystal. Great water behavior! Not Brilliant Shine Detailer level but I would love to put it side by side with High Speed Wax this weekend. Did an undiluted test with Dawn Ultra a few times tonight and it was still behaving aggressively with water.

I was saying WTF is this. I was saying ( to myself ) this dude is messing up his car. After he clay the vehicle he let me feel the paint and I was blown away by how it felt. Took about 4 yrs before I found it at the auto parts store here and got every one of them. They didn`t even know what this was for.

Heh heh, yeah...I bet that *was* a real ?WTF? moment!

I think I was buying it online for quite a while before I ever saw it OTC, but it`s hard to remember after all this time.

Thanks for the review. I have a bottle of the CG version. It also smells like an APC. I will not get a chance to use it until next weekend when I do my fall prep.

For those that are interested I have a review here of the new Adams strip wash.

The Wolf got testy about the product review lol. I understand he is an avid user of Adams products and is a big fan and I basically said that the strip wash did not remove optimum car wax (used as a drying aid) that was 2 weeks old sitting on top of Rupes P808 that is 3-4 months old now. Oh well we all know most strip wash products don`t really do what they intend to do. The strip wash is something that I would not buy again.

In "Waxmode" aka "loach" latest video, he stated he would be testing the clean slate soap from CG. Looking forward to that one.

I don`t know why, the label clearly states "ANY" wax, yet he wants to throw all these variables to protect the product...maybe they should revise that to "removes a weakened/aged layer of wax".

Review thread locked and I received a reprimand PM from The Wolf himself about my negative and argumentative conversation lol. I had a feeling I was going to get both. Loach aka Wax Mode you will be having some Adams Strip Wash to review for your youtube channel shortly as I will be sending you some.

Had that happen to me awhile ago not bashing Adams products but do not argue their products on their forum. Like my old Maintenance Commander told me many times SGT!!..MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY :)

What a child, I read that thread and I did not notice where you were disrespectful or argumentative, just offering your experience . His ego is clearly bruised ,people like that do not like it when others have a different opinion and they take it as a threat, deep down they are just cowards posing as something they`re not....CONFIDENT. I wonder what his response would be if you pointed out and asked about the "any wax" statement on the label....he might get a headache from too much logic in one question.

I would expect some repercussions when you do a review about a product called strip wash and according to your tests it does not strip. However, they should have set some expectations on the label and marketing. They should have called it strong wash or prep wash.

I plan to use my CG Clean Slate this weekend.

oh wow. I had read the review and didn`t see that.

I went back just now, and it looks like the thread has been deleted. Sheesh

Yeah the thread was deleted. Should I put the review on this forum? No way they can block it here. Thoughts?
