MMM Polish Rosa 80345

Let's see...$130.00 for 2 onces of miracle goo and your car is protected for years, That's right - Billy Mays here to tell you of a new break through! Dude, (IF) you have been reading this site for a long time, surely you know that nobody really gives a rat's butt about durability, sure, they say they do, but in all actuality, we can't stop putting new stuff or favorite old stuff on our cars. How many of ya'll really go past 2 months before doing another layer? or at least a wipe down with AW? You lost me with the " Zaino didn't last a month" - and I'm really surprised the Zaino Zombies didn't eat you for lunch.

Tort - got any mustard?

Hahah, exactly. I don't know who he is trying to convince, everyone knows Zaino lasts more than a month. Love it or hate it, its the truth. I guarantee most Autopians would rather spend $130 on a variety of new LSP's, not so "miracle goo." This stuff sounds an aweful lot like those dealership scams....

:beware

Actualy Toughguard is not a bad sealant, it will give the paint a good protection for at least 12 months. But I would instead use the PPS aka 5starshin. Who runs circles around all the other boutique sealants like Z2, Klasse SG/Carlack/Jeffs Werkstatt and etc.

I am at the moment testing a new quartz based sealant that got some serious protection. So far this guy is standing up like a champ.

The only problems with these kinds of companies is that they got some very silly commercials, stupid promises about never wax your car again and etc. Good products but they are not for us Autopians who love to detail our cars every week. But for our customers who want extra protection.

It's amazing to me that they keep up this talk and rhetoric. All it would take to remove all of our suspicions is a few samples. Yet they refuse to back up all their infomercial type "Information" with product results. Send us some samples, and we'll gladly give it a fair evaluation. Until then, your talk means nothing.

Notice how all the really successful car detailing companies don't bother with all this sun-and-moon talk, and just let their products speak for themselves? Maybe Toughgauard should give that approach a shot.

Very good point. It's amazing how they have multiple users sign up and praise the product, hoping to sway the autopian population..

Points of note for Autopia reader; One the experts on this site have stated that Toughguard contains Teflon totally wrong that would be 5 star shine. Two that Toughguard does not give out samples yes they do only to true professional of which there are none here. Three Toughguard well being sold world wide in the next 12 Months. I have seen Toughguard last 5 years as the International and National Sales Manager for Toughguard Products I have been dealing with it for 5 years personal. I have had fun with your ultra bias formum it was a good stress reducer from contract talks with Companies like Porsche World Wide to carry Toughguard as a product in their showrooms

Thank Wayne Gums

More infomercial rhetoric. Until *we* see it last five years, and I'm being repetitive here, your talk means nothing. As far as their being no true professionals here, if it makes you feel better to convince yourself of that, so be it. Now don't you have an infomercial to make somewhere?

Glad to see you finally admit (as you're the national sales manager for toughguard products) that you are dong nothing here but commercial spamming.

Thanks for stopping by and confirming all of our suspicions! :)

Good day sir.... I said good day!

So that IS you, isn't it, Wayne? It's hard to tell with the third grade grammar, but if I'm interpreting the bit that I emphasized above correctly, you're admitting to being the "International and National Sales Manager" for Toughguard. Maybe you should have stuck with recycling . . . spewing garbage seems to be right up your alley.

One more lousy, two-bit, good for nothing shill has been outed, ladies and gentlemen.

Tort

P.S. Not gonna ban him yet. I've left him the rope; let's see if he wants to hang himself with it.

Porsche dealerships do have a very stringent procedure they must follow to wash or prep their customers car. The dealer has to use exactly the products Porsche specifies. Pretty ironic that Porsches come out of dealer prep so badly swirled that they immediately require a full paint correction by a professional detailer (too bad their aren't any here on Autopia). Seeing Porsche carry your product would be the exact proof we need that Toughgaurd is the sun-and-moon crap that we all believe it to be.

Most every Porsche owner I know (and that's quite a few) absolutely refuse to let any Porsche dealership touch the exterior of their car in any way, as it is well-known among the Porsche community that dealers swirl up paint badly.

I'm quite curious what he thinks qualifies someone as being a "professional". As far as I can tell, quite a few folks around here make their livelihood through detailing. As far as myself and Mr. Webster would be concerned, that's the definition of professional.

But if your definition of professional is one who will happily trade their scruples in order to foist subpar products on their customers at insanely high prices, then yes, there probably are few professionals here on Autopia. Few that last more than a dozen posts anyway.

So we're all talk and no proof? I've yet to see any pictures posted from your so-called durability testing. I guess we're supposed to take your word for it since you're a professional.

And it sure doesn't appear that you've bothered to send any samples to autopians for an unbiased test. And who could blame you if you know it's going to get slammed.

Also, and this could just be me, but I'm not so sure that I'm sold on a company that would hire someone to be their sales manager who couldn't pass a high school grammar class. Nevermind the spelling errors.

And last, way to go Tort for smelling out this rat. You have a great deal more mercy than I for not banning him outright.

I'd want to know how exactly they test the product and can determine true 5 year durability before plunking down that kind of money. Even if it did last 5 years anything truly that durable would have to form a paint like bond and have to be removed with a compound or sand paper. I'd just as soon get a can of $6 clear acryllic paint at WalMart and spray my car with that.

Toughguard is not targeted to the detailing market. It's for dealerships. If you try it you will be highly impressed. The average detailer's income is dependent on repeat customers.

...but regular claying, polishing and waxing will improve a vehicle's appearance over the time that Toughguard simply maintains the finish at whatever level it started at.

Well, okay, Mr. Run-on-sentences. I've had my own mobile detailing business more than 14 years now, I am sure that makes me a professional. No way am I dropping $130 for two oz of product without either myself or someone I know well has tested a sample.

Big deal that Porsche carries Toughguard. Meguiars makes Mercedes car care line...and Meguiars is quite generous with samples and they hold car care clinics at their headquarters in Irvine.

I think this has gone on long enough; time to slap a lock on it and call it done.

it's an LSP (akrilic )
time to dry : 1 min to buff.

MMM in a paper say to follow the cut series by two protection:
this rose for "older car", or an one step glaze carnauba ( red ) for newyer car
...
dont matter the MMM carnauba paste who's for some owner's car.

this product is a one step acrilik , which i compare to (but dont try) :

SRP , EZ cr?me glaze , or other.

i don't know about carlack true sealent or werkstat i never try them ..

he do a terrible cleaning step ( to let the acrilik on the surface )
you can go as a prep step , no cut , little true polish , and good protection.
