Great question. No one ever discusses personal safety on this site; just vehicle safety!!
I do where a mask. . . now. I don't notice any discomfort in my lungs but the inside of my nostrils will get very irritated if I am doing a two or three step with any polishes prone to dusting. Without getting too graphic (well maybe I will!); as I detail/exert myself . . I perspire, as does the inside of my nose. When I breath the dust in it sticks to the inside of my nostrils and can cause some real discomfort when I stop to think about something other than the vehicle.
