I've read more than a few posts lately on problems with Megs 6.5" pads. I wonder if they changed something recently in their construction or materials, perhaps the outfit that is making them for Megs?
I haven't purchased a Megs pad in a long time but I do have a quite a few and not one has ever slung off the backing pad and that includes using on a rotary with a 6" H&L plate as well as on the PC with the Coastal supplied 3M 6" backing plate. I've hand washed, machine washed, rung them out by hand, spun dried them on the rotary and yes, even machine dried them (on the low heat delicate setting) and I just can't kill those pads. Most of them have had the labeling on the velcro backing faded off long ago but they still work fine.
Still, with all the complaints I've read as of late I have to think something has changed in the manufacturing process.
