Meguiar's Versa Brush......

I bought the WIDE Meguiars Versa brush and have been using it for about 6 washings. No problem. I usually hang it on 2 hooks, horizontally, and put a bucket underneath the brush to catch the drippings. Well, I bought my Toyota Truck over the weekend and opened my garage to wash the truck, and somehow, the brush part had "snapped" off the wand due to too much weight, I guess. Needless to say, I resorted to wash mitts. I am disappointed in Meguair's now because of this. I am thinking, though, of getting their "Ultra Plush Wash Mop" for the truck (I think I'm really gonna need something like this, after trying to wash this beast with just the mitts---and by the way WHAT is that super slick coating they put on the truck liner? Jeeessh!! I about fell on my but and couldn't get the roof from the bedliner), but would like to run the satisfaction levels by the members of this website first. I did epoxy the brush head back on the handle on the Versa Brush and will check it out later when the epoxy has set for 24 hours to see if it's ok.....Just about $15 down the drain if it doesn't work. Of course, I don't have the receipt or original packing.....

Also, I decided against the dealership's paint protection option ($495) which also includes interior protection of upholstery, dash....but want to know if this is something I should spring for? I can always get it done anytime under 1,750 miles. What are your takes on this "scratch proof, chip proofing" coating?

Thanks, again, everyone.

Merry Christmas and happy, healthy, prosperious New Year to all!!

"scratch proof, chip proof" is 100% bullsh!t. Don't go for it. For the interior, buy a $6 can of Scotch-gard from Target, and spray it on yourself. No matter what they claim, there is nothing that is "scratch-proof and chip-proof" for car paint. My suggestion is to buy a nice bottle of paint sealant (I like DP Premium Surface Shield, but that's just me) and apply it every once and a while yourself.

 Happy holidays!

I would still contact Meguiars with your issue and they will most likely ship you a replacement. They want to make the best products and to do so they need to know the good and bad an by you letting them know about problems will make their products even better in the long run...

As for the paint protection- don't even think about it. It is impossible for something to hold up as a scratch proof or chip proof. Just read and search here and you're truck (what truck did you get?) will look great and be just as protected, if not better.

Well, I got the Toyota Tundra SR5, With power everything except seats. Access cab (smaller rear doors). Phantom Gray, towing package. V8 4.7 liter, Automatic with O/D, alloy rims (really like the rims, put wheel wax on them), bedliner, well, here is the cut and paste below...(by the way, the epoxy didn't work on the Versa brush....too slick of a plastic. But, thanks, I will call Meguiars. It's worth a try. I just ordered the plush mop.

No problem, I'm almost certain if you tell them exactly the problem they will take care of it. I just got an 05 Tacoma SR5 Double Cab in September, Silver in color and absolutley love it. Almost got the Tundra but thats a little too big for us.

I'm 100% sure megs will ship you a new brush at no cost. I've had a few problems with their products and they always send you a new one no questions asked. I didn't even have to show them a receipt.

Well, I took the advice offered here and got ahold of Meguiars online and posted some comments with a link to my post, and got an email today from Shane at Meguiar's. He offered to send me out a new brush. That's pretty cool. Well, I just hope this one doesn't snap off the head. I asked him to please let his engineers or designers know that there might be a weak spot on this brush. But it was pretty cool of him to offer a replacement. Faith restored in Meguiars....

Jack.

Jack - just so you dont feel alone I have the Wheel Face Brush and my head snapped off too. I did take it back and got a credit. NIce brush, just unsturdy head.

He may need to call long distance to China. I bet all of that stuff is imported.

Yeah,...how true! Can't get away from the "made in China" logo.....what's a country to do??? Got a good laugh out of your post, though.!!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays.....I'm going to read my fortune cookie now..

Jack.
