Meguiars microfiber correction system ?

I know I have seen several post of people using the new meguiars microfiber cutting pad with m105, but does anyone have any experience using the cutting pad with meguiars ultimate compound?

I too am interested. As a weekend warrior, I've pretty much just stocked myself with a full Meg's Ultimate lineup of products and been going by that. Interested in trying out the MF correction system...

I have tried the MF system with orange LC and it doesnt work as well as the microfiber pad....I dont know about your question, though.

I've tried the MF cutting pad with M105, M105 & D300, and with UNO v3, the UNO worked better in my opinion although they all work better than any foam pad/polish combo I've ever used.

I actually used the Megs Microfiber Cutting pad with UC today on a Honda Odyssey and a GMC Jimmy both to remove scratches and it came out great. I used it the same way the D300 is used, worked with almost the same results.

You could most likely use it to compound the entire car.

I had some trouble with the Mf system...nothing bad, but on a flat black BMW 328is. It did remove many of the circular scratches, but it left tiny sized scratches...almost looked like the fibers of the pad a bit. I saw that Mike Phillips stated that on some softer paints, it may not work as well and this paint is SOFT- I can scratch it by rubbing my finger lightly on the paint- microfiber towels will scratch this paint sometimes. After watching several videos tonight, it appears that I did not prime the pad enough- even though I put a few sprays of Polys on the cutting pad first. I am going to try again on an Odyssey this weekend.

I've only tried the Microfiber Discs with Ultimate Compound once.

The combo worked excellent.

Super smooth buff and wipe-off.

I would certainly recommend it.

The discs are so versatile, it's crazy to not have them in one's arsenal.

By far I get the most correction with M101, a Europe only product.

I'm still fighting off the desire to move there so I can use M101 exclusively.

Next best would be M105, original formula.

Then, it's a close one between M105 and D300 (paint dependent).

I've gotta say, D300 is a world-class compound.

Finishing potential is virtually unmatched for a compound.

Interestingly, the cut and finishing potential comparing M86 and Uno 3.0 seem to a close match.

M86 is sooo overlooked, which is too bad.

As is obvious with the name's, both are designed for cut/polish/finish.

M86 is recommended for non-OEM applied paint, but that never stopped me from using it with the Microfiber Discs.

I am still playing with Uno 3.0, but I am pretty confident in my findings. Several guys here have a lot more experience with Uno than me, so its highly likely they are be able to wring a bit more out of Uno.

Not a bash whatsoever on Uno 3.0, and should not be taken as such.

What I am reading on autopia in terms of its performance, comparisons to other products aside, seems to be pretty accurate. Ease of use, finishing potential, stuff like that. Outta' this world price with the special!

I just happen to have a lot of experience with the microfiber discs.

Probably more than anyone in terms of beating them to within an inch of their lives, running 'em out the top end, 100+ hour buff-outs, and using them for polishing stainless, aluminum, plexi, and chrome.

Freaking things are like Double stuff OREO cookies... if you place them face-to-face... :hungry:

The hazing you are experiencing is understandable, but without a doubt, controllable.

I don't know how much time you've got for reading, but this article may help you in all aspects of polishing, not just the microfiber discs:

KBM- Pad Priming and Supplemental Wetting Agents

Particularly, take a look at this, as taken from the article:

Pad Priming, and How It Relates to Final Polishing

So far, I've found the MF cutting disc compatible with D300, #105 and Optimum Hyper Compound so it should work with UC as well.

I've got a set of the cutting discs and finishing discs due to arrive on Friday for a 2002 Camaro detail on Saturday morning. I had planned on using an AIO as a one-step (Prime Strong or Poli Seal).

I didn't get any of the Meg's products, as I really like my Menzerna polishes (SIP and PO106FF) and will have to try them with the MF discs. Anyone have experience with these?

EDIT: I guess the better question is -- is there a product that DOESN'T play well with the MF?

If you are not trying to do any major correction why can't you just use UNO or PO85RD with a Meg finishing pad ??

Is there a good source where M101 can be found and imported? I wouldn't mind having a 32-oz. on hand.

...and using them for polishing stainless, aluminum, plexi, and chrome.

Do tell....

Thanks for setting us up for false expectations there Kevin!! Figures the juicy stuff that works the best isn't accessible by mere mortals like us. I'm all for a European group buy if you can lead us to the path of righteousness?

Anything that works via DA will work great (better) with the Meg's MF pads. I can't see myself buying another DA foam cutting pad. And, they're extremely durable. I got nearly 20 vehicles out of my initial test pad which is unheard of with traditional foam.

So, revolutionary? :)

I've been out of the detailing thing for a few years and have been burning through my old foam pads lately. This is great news. I might just have to return the set of three I ordered along with the MF pads.

From what I understand M101 still has not been released in Europe. :(

Which explains why my Google searches kept coming up empty while trying to find a UK or other European vendor that has it...

I asked Jason last week when M101 was going to be released... He said it WAS!!!

So, there should be some out and about. I did ask him via e-mail of a place to buy it in Sweden for porta, but have not heard back as of yet.

Man, I really like this stuff. Keep in mind that M101 was designed for foam pads, rotary use. And it is really great for that purpose- I just used some of my sample with a yellow 4" pad, and yowza it was a match made in heaven.

I am finishing out a sanding job with M101 and the Microfiber Discs.

Tell you what- it works stellar with the Finishing Disc.

The car, a Chevelle, is white, so I am having a terrible time getting decent pics.

But, I will try to at least get some reflections of halogens or skylights or something.

If you felt M101 between your fingers, you'd think it was an old-school compound, as it feels very gritty. If you prime properly and minimize the amount of product on the pad via compressed air, its finishing capability will astound.

Man, I love those Meguiar's chemists and the R&D crew.
