Meguiars microfiber correction system ?

I've got a set of the cutting discs and finishing discs due to arrive on Friday for a 2002 Camaro detail on Saturday morning. I had planned on using an AIO as a one-step (Prime Strong or Poli Seal).

I didn't get any of the Meg's products, as I really like my Menzerna polishes (SIP and PO106FF) and will have to try them with the MF discs. Anyone have experience with these?

EDIT: I guess the better question is -- is there a product that DOESN'T play well with the MF?

I haven't found one. I'm pretty much done with foam cutting pads at this point until (if) they come up with something better than the mf cutting discs. I just wish I could find them a little cheaper. :x

Has anyone tried a Griots on speed 6 with the system- ccreme? I had a detailer tell me to go to 6 because I was not getting it to polish down- level out. I am getting very, very, fine and what look like "fiber" scratches on speed 4- going by what the chart states. The paint is '99 and flat black on a BMW.

Thanks, Rob

Drop the speed way down for final polishing.

When you are all done with defect removal, clean the pad via compressed air, or via brush and running the face of the pad into a microfiber towel. Get those fibers all fluffy and clean. Then, apply a little bit of D300 to the pad, rub it in, drop machine speed to maybe 2-3, or to the point that the backing plate still rotates using normal to a bit above normal pressure.

Since your paint has been soooo problematic, clean the pad a LOT.

If you still see marring, clean the pad, apply a little bit of D300 to the pad, rub it in, and then clean it out again as listed above.

Then polish using what is left in the pad, at the lowest speed setting that still allows the baking plate to rotate, even if it's one turn per five seconds.

And for goodness sake... DO NOT use very LIGHT pressure when you final polish. You'll end up scouring the surface more tha you would using normal or just above normal pressure.

You already have my phone number... use it!

Prosecution Exhibit #1 in the case of Porter Cable vs KBM. :nana:

Ah, that's better.

No- I have agents throughout the world looking out for KBM slander-type stuff.

This is not Kevin. It's Barry. I have a class to teach today.

Haven't found one. I've used SIP and 106fa on the megs discs, both worked fine. I will say though that I have had trouble getting the mf finishing disc to finish entirely marring free, no matter what the polish. SIP on an mf cutting disc is nice, though.

Kevin,

David was doing some of your method in the afternoon. Now I know what you mean by slow WAY down.

Nice meeting you and the other pros today!
