Well... this is Lab Sample E

This is a 18 ounce bottle and will have a suggested retail price of $14.95

If your'e heading to SEMA/APPEX, keep you eye open for the below NXT Logo/Sticker. There will be, I have been told, over 40 cars prepped with NXT Tech Wax.

Lab sample “D is a version prior to “E. The chemists at Meguiar’s were working on the NXT and each sample had it’s own letter so we could define what we were testing. NXT Tech Wax is the final product.

Would there be any significant difference between the consumer version and the pro version other than packaging? From what I have seen I can't imagine how you could improve it other than offering it in professional line packaging and larger sizes like 32oz and possibly by the gallon.

Is the planned release date for the consumer version still in February? will it be available any sooner say directly from Meguiars via www.meguiars.com?

I'd like to know exactly how this stuff compares to Klasse. I have used Klasse recently on my electron blue car and it has really made the metallic pop with 2 coats of SG on it. I have been told that carnubas aren't going to be the best direction for my type of color/paint, so a polymer sealent is better. So.....whats the deal??

You pro guys, I don't think you have anything to worry about, regardless of whether there is a difference between consumer and professional NXT or not.

First, the average Joe Consumer is going to spend $2.99 on wax before he spends $14.95; look at all the people who spend $2.99 on Turtle Wax rather than $4.99 on Meg's Cleaner Wax.

Second, the average Joe Consumer is going to wash his car with a big sponge and a stiff bristle brush, and apply NXT over the dirt that he missed washing, and he will wipe his applicator off on his pant leg if he drops it, rather than get a clean one.

You can give ALL the NXT to the consumers; make it illegal to use NXT professionally. Leave the pros with whatever they are using now; heck, make the pros use Meguiar's Cleaner Wax. Your pro cars will come out better every the time.

Yeah, I'm going to use NXT. But I don't NEED NXT. My car looks great because I learned technique (and I still have that last 98% to learn, mind you). The professionally done cars are better because of process, not product (but, you knew that; I'm only reminding you). If it was only product, you wouldn't have a profession right now, because I can get anything you can. BUT I CAN'T DO WHAT YOU DO.

I understand the urge, the need to go for that last little edge by using the very best looking product. But NXT won't make Joe C's car look line one done professionally, no mater what the professional used.

Maybe it is that innate urge to only want what the others don't know about and to be "underground." However, I still maintain that customers base your expertise on the products you use, not your perfect washing technique. Autopians know that it is the little things that make the difference, not the wax you use. Like you said Tom, I could go out and put some Megs. cleaner wax or TW on my car, and I guarantee you it would still look really good. Sadly enough that, whenever I get a first time customer calling me, I would say about 80% of the time, I get asked, "what kind of wax do you use?" I start by priming the question that wax is such a little part of the equation that it is about paint preparation before the wax, then extolling the virtues of a synthetic sealant that will offer better protection such as PUPP which I often use on customers cars. I will guarantee 99/100 callers have never heard of Platinum. This triggers the response "this person knows something I don't." However, if I say, I use Meguiars wax. They immediately think of themselves going into Autozone, buying Cleaner Wax, slathering on 1/2 of the can, taking it off with a beach towel, and admiring their work. They don't know the chemistry behind NXT, they know the Meguiars name.

Will I buy NXT Tech Wax? Absolutely. Will I buy the professional version to use on customers cars if I like the results more than my current regimen? Yes.

Hi all,

I have been asked a lot of questions via e-mail, forum, telephone and PM's,

One of the most common questions has been, "Is there a Pro-version of this new product coming out?"

The answer is yes.

The next question I contemplate will be, "Is it the same product in a different bottle?"

The answer is No.

Without going into details, the word, Potency was used as a descriptive word to describe the Pro-version. It may be harder to work with, we don't know yet, the formula is still being developed. (Emphasis on the word, may.)

But last Thursday, one of the chemists asked me to compare the two products pictured in the below photo. One product, (the whitish colored product), is NXT Tech Wax. The other product, is something different, (the bottle with a yellow tinge).

And yes, that is a real Meguiar's chemist, in his lab coat, fresh out of the lab, holding freshly mixed products.
