Just seems weird they would try to write on the car, versus just scratching it (keying it). If you get to the point of getting the door resprayed, I would look into the airbrush touchup. I saw one recently that was first class. I guess finding a good airbrusher is like finding a good detailer.

My condolences on the damage SuperBee, however I would consider the SOB to be jealous and envious instead of mean.



It sure is tough having a nice ride...between the idiots that leave grocery carts in the parking lot to roll around and bang into vehicles, and those that park too close and ding ya when they get out it is bad enough, but when somebody goes out of thier way to damage a vehicle..they are disturbed.

Yeah, except now that I think about it, I probably wouldn't have done anything except call the cops. I normally carry a concealed weapon, and you really want to avoid getting into a physical confrontation with someone when you're carrying a gun.

It's called B5 blue. Every year, Dodge is making 1k Charger SRT-8's (the top of the line charger with the 425 hp 6.1 liter Hemi) in a unique color with SuperBee markings. The first year they did yellow SuperBees (my last car). This year they did B5 blue. My car is number 876 out of 1000. They won't ever do B5 blue again. The only way to get it was to get one of the 1k superbees. Actually, never say never.... They did B5 blue as a color option on the original charger back in the 70's.



Everyone was shouting at Dodge to do Petty Blue (kinda like a baby blue), but apparently there were some licensing issues that couldn't be overcome, so they went with the B5 blue from the '70's.

I was reading about a paint touch up kit over on detailingworld and just sent in my order for a kit from Dr. ColorChip fool-proof auto touch up paint kit for chip repair on your car- BMW,Porsche,Ford,Honda,Mercedes,Lexus,Toyota...most color codes they seem to have had pretty good luck with it over thereand I thought I would try it. It is a USA based company. I will post up my results once I get a chance to do it.

When we first got our Infiniti M45, we closed the garage door and the rear end was too close and the manual handle did a magnificent scrape job down the entire bumper. My neighbor works at the Infiniti dealership and he took my car in one day. They have a guy that comes there 2 or 3 times a week and does "touch up" work on all their cars. It was PERFECT!!! It was the pearl white color and I looked for maybe 10 minutes trying to find where the spot was but I couldn't see it. My neighbor said he thinks they do some type of air brushing. Maybe swing by your local dealer and ask them if they have a similar type of service. It only cost me $125.

Thanks guys. Yeah, it really is amazing how the more you love your car, the more people are out to b***h it up for ya. Someone keyed the hood of my yellow bee, now the door of my new one. Makes me wonder why I even bother to try and keep it in good shape.



I'd love to try and do an actual touch-up job on it, but I'm pretty ham-fisted when it comes to such things. Picus has a fantastic thread on how to do it. The results he shows on that thread are amazing. You can't even see the repair. If I could, I'd buy some touch up paint, then hire Picus to fly down here and do the repair. As Accumulator said, it's just opening such a can of worms to have the whole door reshot.



Until I can get up the nerve to attempt a repair, I'm just gonna try and minimize it with a sanding job.

Mr. Bee. I am not even going to address the haters that did this. I would explode. So onward.



Sanding down the spot is essentially the same thing as trying to repair it with paint. IMO, you might as well do the touchup then sand, instead of sanding now, touching up later, re-sanding etc...you know, clear coat failure and all that.



So, let me know if you do go this route and I will go over it with a fine toothed comb for you. Exactly how I would do it were I to attempt it. Oh, and any more pics you have would be awesome.

Oh re: the airbrushing dudes. They can do miracle work. I am actually working on a montego blue 335i right now that had a scrape with a wall on the front fender, and all I can see now is a *tad* bit more orange peel. If he hadn't told me about it I wouldn't have caught it. That said, I've found those airbrushers are better for larger areas. I'd hit this one with some touchup personally.
