Mean people suck.

And the trouble is when you shoot one of those a-holes, two more pop up!

Okay, I've never actually shot any of them, but somebody should!

Sorry...the first ugly in any new ride hurts the worst.

Just wanted to say, gorgeous car. And I hope you work something out with getting it fixed. I had some Ahole hit and run driver knock my friends bike over onto my Harley a year or so ago, so I know what it's like. Makes you wanna strangle someone, but you don't know who. Good Luck, man, and again, nice ride. Hope you can get it straightened out without too much stress.

Thanks again, guys (and gals), I appreciate the kind words. I also really appreciate all the different repair options everyone has offered. Think I'm gonna look into all of them... I had no idea there were so many different paint repair processes.

It kinda looks like the main difficulty in the repair is that the three scratches that go all the way to the metal are thin and short. I guess it's hard to get paint to level out and adhere in such a small scratch.

Ah well... it's gonna be a few weeks before I can take the time to do anything at all to it. Well, anything other than stand there and stare at it for several minutes everytime I take my car anywhere.

Primer is your friend. So are sewing needles. Primer and sewing needles are everyones friends. :D

I normally carry a concealed weapon, and you really want to avoid getting into a physical confrontation with someone when you're carrying a gun.

And that's because you don't want to shoot them? Or you don't want them to shoot you?

Hmm. I may need you to elaborate on this one a bit more, Picus. My brain just hit saturation with all the studying I've done today.

Both. No matter how nice the car is, property damage is no reason for anyone to have a hole in them.

Somebody doing that to an original '67 L88 Corvette would be ground for emptying my H&K USP just by their head though. :nono

LoL, yeah, it's too bad that a few "warning shots across the bow" is so poorly viewed by law enforcement. I'd gaurentee that having a few lead slugs travel close by at high velocity would scare even the most hardened car vandal/thief into a few semesters of seminary.

Edit: I should make it very clear that the above post is totally in jest. *Never* would I condone firing "warning shots" at anyone. IMHO, discharging a firearm toward anyone should only be a last-ditch effort to save your life or the life of an innocent. It is NEVER justified in any other situation.

I know...like it's THAT dangerous.

A few words: Federal 230 grain Hydroshocks. :2thumbs:

Holy cow.. .slugs *that* big make me think you've got a 10mm auto or .45 ACP. My concealed carry gun is a Walther PPK/S in .380 auto. But it is loaded with 95 grain Eagle Talon ammo. Remember the Talon ammo controversy? Years ago, the feds decided that it couldn't be sold to the general public, but the GP could posses it? My cop buddy bought a few boxes of it for me, and said "here.. Merry Christmas. I can't sell this to you, but I can give it to you, and it's legal for you to posses it."

Edit: I do load the 230 grain hydroshoks in my .44 mag, though. I do alot of reloading, but the rounds in my semi-autos that are used for self defense are all factory loads. All my other handgun, rifle, and shotgun rounds are my own loads, though. Wait... isn't this a car detailing board?? ;)

sorry to hear about that Bee, some people just have no respect for people's possessions/property these days. too bad you didn't catch them in the act...

I carry a H&K USP .45. The federal ammo is my carry ammo...way too expensive to practice with. You can check the ammo out here (First one at the top):

Sorry to hear your unfortunate experience Supe. If you haven't thought of this already (because I have), you should rig up your battery so that it switches to your paint's surface when your car alarm is active. Talk about a shocker. :sign

You mentioned it'd be tough to get paint into the narrow marks, and that it might not adhere. I've had that problem too; so I use a little primer on the end of a sewing needle. Normally capilary action pulls the paint into the scratch. If not you can still dab it in the scratch, wait 20 seconds, then wipe with alcohol, which normally leaves the primer in the scratch but removes excess from the paint. Sort of like hyper-langka. :D

Ah, I see... Thanks for that. Really not looking forward to this darn repair at all.
