Can you ever really have too much? How many layers of paste wax should be used? Can you use too much? Is there a significant difference between two coats and ten coats?
 
well not sure if you could have too much, but theres a point of redundancy, that anymore won't make a difference. I'd say that points about 3 coats, and thats on the hih ide
 
I mostly agree with fiveohhh, the paint will only accept so much. So, I guess it is not like Sex and Money in my opinion because even when you have enough, more won't hurt. You won't hurt your paint by having more than enough, but it's really a waste.
 
ShortCut, you have struck upon a brilliant line of reasoning. Wax is EXACTLY like money and sex.



Too much money can wax over just about any problem you can imagine (although that problem may never truly go away.)



Too much sex is akin to rubbing and rubbing and rubbing, until you wear the finish down!

Wax (Blitz, Souveran, Paste Glaz), better if applied one coat a week than 5 coats a day. So keep the coats spread out rather than close together.

I don't think wax is like sex or money at all! Why? because some or a lot or any kind of money or sex is good. There's a lot of waxes I'd turn down :D
 
It's not always about how many coats you can slap on the body:D .......but more about the type of sealent and technique in which you apply it.......:D :bolt



Personally, I'm a 2 coat Zaino kind of guy, I like to leave the exterior conditioned just right and the cars are always very satified when I get through with them.......:D



You can use a lot of coats of waxs that last a short amount of time or you can use small amounts of the right sealents that will last you a long amount of time.:usa
 
Wax is not like sex or money. As Mae West once said, sex is like snow, you never know how many inches you'll get or how long it will last! And Tommy Chonge once said, dope will get you through times with no money, but money won't get you through times with no dope. Me - I prefer sealers, wax just ain't my thing.
 
Agree. Wax won't be going on my car anymore. Great for old school show cars but its got too many things against it nowdays
