Mazda 3 by Hamza7

Okay guys this was a detail carried out for my friend and a forum I recently just got sponsorship rights to.

This car had 18 layers of AG-HD on it so after 3 consecutive dawn washes, 1 overspray of AG CWC, Wolf's Deironizer, Elevated DeTARminator and medium and aggressive clay bar. I decided to polish the protection off, this car would survive a nuclear attack.

All of the correction was done on my Maki, with either a LC or Uber polishing pad and combination of M205 and Presta UCCL

I was ungroomed on this occasion, I will get a hair cut and shave next time I do a job

I explain a lot of stuff to them so feel free just to picture look

Authentic Merino wool wash-mitt FTW, only the best for my clients

DSCN4279.jpg

Using a deironizing gel, to remove the iron particles stuck on Justin’s car. Remember this statement I’ll bring it up again

I use a sponge to spread it around, before that though. I use a box cutter to grit lines into it. So that dirt particles that may still be present can sucked into their instead of rubbing onto the paint. Detailing on the cheap 101

Deironized

Here I sprayed some tar remover, I mean industrial strength tar remover. So I wear a respiratory mask for safety.

DSCN4291.jpg

After that I use clay and clay lube to do a final decontamination on the car for what ever is left.

DSCN4292.jpg

You just have to gently glide it over the surface, GENTLY!

My Boi is impressed with the shine already, what more can I do to impress him?

Trying to play doctor doctor (taking paint measurements of the car, you know how MUCH paint a Mazda has right)

Justin takes care of his car, so it was in good condition which means it’s very hard to take the pictures of defects.

DSCN4321.jpg

Also it was impossible to get a 50:50 shot, here are a few attempts though.

DSCN4325.jpg

This is the polish side, the right side

DSCN4346.jpg

Un-polished side, do you guys notice the difference.

DSCN4347.jpg

Here’s the polished side again

DSCN4348.jpg

Ohh wait, here’s a good one.

DSCN4366.jpg

Here’s the side of the hood, yes only a Mazda can we have a “side” of the hood. Damn sharp corners

DSCN4370.jpg

The eyebrows, because the smiley face wasn’t enough

DSCN4374.jpg

DSCN4375.jpg

I took a break polishing, Loose Cannon wanted to rinse his car. Pfff Rinse, we detail here Bay Bee

Justin had to turn the car around so I took this opportunity to take some pictures

Some more scratches

DSCN4471.jpg

Gone

More 50:50

After the polishing was complete I rewashed it so I could get rid of the dust that was everywhere.

You know how it looks all nice outside well that’s just my camera I really don’t know how to work it. This is how it actually was

DSCN4527.jpg

I started by giving a second treatment of sealant to the paint around Justin’s car everything except the hood and front bumper was treated.

On the hood, I used a special wax I got from Bryan @ Concours Touch, I hand applied Yes hand applied it to the hood as seen below. Justin made me laugh because he thought I was crazy. He’s like “Why you messaging my car man, it’s weird” I said “Yeah it is”

In my experience, Mazda clear is the worst. It's so thin....

Detail is nice. I actually lol'd about hand massaging the hood.

Too many pictures in your post for my likings.

Nice work. Have the same car/color = stock.

So did you find the paint soft ? What polish did you use?

It actually wasn't as soft as I thought it would be, but then again I do polish mostly Japanese cars. I used a polishing pad and M205 or Presta UCCL with a rotary

We bought our daughter a Mazda 3 back in 2010, that really BRIGHT blue color. As a worried Dad, I wanted the world to see her car coming and NOT do something dumb like turn in front of her. I found the paint to be very good. The only thing I did from the start was wash, clay, slightly polish with LC white and Menz FFII. I've used BFWD from the get go - but - last Oct, it got a the HD Nitro.

I guess it's a girl thing or maybe part of this generation, but she doesn't drive much. She's into that facebooking stuff and I guess it's cheaper and safer than cruising like I did back in the 70's!

BTW - I think you did a very good detail, and it's nice to see a regular car looking great in the C&B's.
