I usually peruse the local pawn shops during my lunch break here in High Point, NC once in a while to see if I find any good deals. I once found a pneumatic cyclo that was stuffed away on an upper shelf, offered the guy $50 for it and walked out with a $700 machine for $60 and change. I intercepted an elderly gentleman pulling up to a pawn shop that I was just walking out of that was about to pawn a Honda powered Pressure Washer that looked absolutely brand new and got it for $65!! He told me that he used it two years ago for one season, winterized it and it sat for 1.5 years since. Started on the second pull when I put some gas in it!
Today, I went to one of my favorite shops and low and behold... a almost BRAND NEW Makita 9227C buffer sitting there with a price tag of $147. I though, "well yeah, that's a fair price but what the heck... I'll try for a deal today." Offered the lady at the counter $50 and she came back and said I could have it for $72 including taxes. :chuckle:
