I usually peruse the local pawn shops during my lunch break here in High Point, NC once in a while to see if I find any good deals. I once found a pneumatic cyclo that was stuffed away on an upper shelf, offered the guy $50 for it and walked out with a $700 machine for $60 and change. I intercepted an elderly gentleman pulling up to a pawn shop that I was just walking out of that was about to pawn a Honda powered Pressure Washer that looked absolutely brand new and got it for $65!! He told me that he used it two years ago for one season, winterized it and it sat for 1.5 years since. Started on the second pull when I put some gas in it!

Today, I went to one of my favorite shops and low and behold... a almost BRAND NEW Makita 9227C buffer sitting there with a price tag of $147. I though, "well yeah, that's a fair price but what the heck... I'll try for a deal today." Offered the lady at the counter $50 and she came back and said I could have it for $72 including taxes. :chuckle: :D :woot:

Pawn shops kinda intimadate me atleast the ones that are even remotely close to me. Really aren't any close to me. I too have never been in one either.

Same here, the ones are usually located near areas where you feel if you walk in, you'll have to buy something otherwise you'll be going home without some part of your body...
