M3, Range Rover Sport, and a little AMG goodness *56K*

ebp,

Can you compare 106ff to blackfire SRC? Which one do you like better? How much do you use to polish a whole car?

Thanks

Kenney

To me, they are *very* close (of course they are essentially the same). The BF will stay a little wetter for a longer period where the PO106FF will turn blothcy once everything is broken down. Other than that, hard to tell the difference. If you just need a small amount, get the BF, if you need more, got the Menzerna. I have no idea how mcuh it takes to polish the car--an ounce maybe?

I've seen a few pictures with members posting detailing and instead of editing out the license plate, they apparently have another plate over it with a logo or slogan, like the one on the M3 and AMG. I really like that and wanna know more. Is it a piece of cardboard, paper, custom plate, ect.

I hope its not just some fancy Photoshop work.. LOL.. I'd be embarrased if it was..

I had the sign made of flexible, magnetic vinyl. I was thinking that it would stick to plates, but it won't. :D I use double-sided tape.....

WOW WOW WOW WOW

The cars look like liquid black, very impressive I have used 21 and imo it is a nice combo of sealant shine and nuba depth. I like it alot under SRC.

I have to start sending my cars out to you for a cleaning. I am blown away, Joe.

All the best for the future; your operation is top notch!

[Insert usual :bow regarding ebpcivicsi's work here..]

Did the lights in the shop give you any false impressions on the black BMW?

Heh heh, were you tempted to take a heatgun to that dealer sticker on the Benz ;)

I could see the water etching and the deeper marring, but the lighter swirls were hidden by the lighting. No worries though, I never quote without seeing the paint in the halogens. :D

Isn't that awful? It's funny because when I am doing wash and waxes for the shop I am constantly telling myself, "this is not a detail, this is not a detail." :D It's really hard to skip steps when you *know* the right way. I am always mindful to place a list of recommendation with my invoice for the customer. If that car comes back for a detail, that decal is GONE!!!

Thanks Sean!!

OK, gotcha on the lights, sounds like you're learning how to make things work in that shop.

And heh heh :xyxthumbs regarding that sticker not lasting through a proper detail :D

EPCIVICS...did you notice that the rotary pad had a lot of friction, yielding a "grippy" or "torquing" feeling? I only have one Range Rover I detail (clay, polish, and wax every 4 months)...but I dislike the paint because the rotary does not want to glide very easily, leading to buffer swirls; it's less noticable when compoundnig aggressively, but when final finishing I really notice it.

Whoa... you got the M3 and the Range Rover perfect! Your skills with a rotary are awesome.

I also noticed you decided on your logo and had that complete. The final product looks great and I like the vinyl plate for the pictures, nice touch!

Good job man :xyxthumbs

RAG, at first I was using a Meguiars polishing pad and did notice the grip. The CCS pad was *much* better, I know that a finishing pad will grip horribly on that paint. No way that I could buff with a rotary and a finishing pad.

Are you using the 6.5 or 7.5 CCS Pads? Trying to choose one to go with my 6 inch BP. Usually use flat pads, so Variable contact seems totally weird. Otherwise it's the E2k system, though noone has anything similar to the CCS except maybe "Score" pads.

6.5" is the best of both worlds. I think that is what Joe uses.

Hmm that would be useful for the occasional PC usage, won't the edge of the BP get somewhat close to the paint if I'm using my rotary?

The details are fantastic.

But, all I can see on the SLK is the obscene dealer sticker. If I paid that much for a car I wouldn't accept delivery with that nonsense.
