GOT PREP?
Here are a few cars that I have been working on throughout the week.

First up is a black M3 that is in unbelievable condition (<7K on the clock), but needed quite a bit of swirl removal. The interior took about 30 minutes, but the paint took a little longer...

OHC via rotary and a green LC CCS pad @1500 RPM’s

Menzerna PO106FF via PC @ speed 6 with a white LC 5.5 LP pad

Meguiars #21

Tires wear original formula endurance

Wheels sealed with #21

Next up was a black Range Rover Sport that needed swirl removal and paint protection installed (clear bra).

OHC @1500 RPM’s with a green SM Arnold 6 pad

Menzerna PO106FF with a white LC LP pad

Meguiars #21 applied via PC and a finishing pad @4

Tires wear a base of endurance and a topper of #40 (did I just type that? :D )

Paint protection film installed after the detail

Full sun?

There’s paint protection film on the hood, bumper, side mirrors, headlights, door sills, rear hatch areapretty much everything exposed is covered. The new film that we are using is *very* clearyou can barely see the lines or even detect it on the headlights.

This car came in for a wash and wax, but *really* needs a full detail. I though tit was very nice though….

:wow: Nice collection of wheels!

The paint looks excellent on all three. Love that Mercedes, I agree, "tit" looks nice. ;)

Perfection right there man! :bow :bow :bow

What was used on the SLK?

How long did it take you to do those 2 cars?

OHC & the green CCS pad combo worked on the M3? Do you have any befores? The swirls must have been light in nature.

AGAIN, Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The shop looks very very nice.

YEah brutha. Very nice. Were you able to get those vehicles basically swirl-free with just two polishing steps? The hyper is pretty good, but I never gave those green pads much credit for doing heavy defect removel...but maybe the vehicles were in pretty good shape to start with?

that M3 looks freaking awesome...the only thing that I would have done different is the front spoiler.

Great job on all three!!:bow

I was on the fence about using #21 as a LSP on my clients cars, but after these pictures, I'm pretty sure that is what I am going with.:dance

It isn't 21 - Prep is the key and since he used 106ff as his final polishing step, what you like is the 106ff. :D

ebp,

Can you compare 106ff to blackfire SRC? Which one do you like better? How much do you use to polish a whole car?

Thanks

Alot of people have said it performs almost exactly the same. Blackfire is a bit more expensive, otherwise both are wicked good. What PPF did they use?

I've seen a few pictures with members posting detailing and instead of editing out the license plate, they apparently have another plate over it with a logo or slogan, like the one on the M3 and AMG. I really like that and wanna know more. Is it a piece of cardboard, paper, custom plate, ect.

I hope its not just some fancy Photoshop work.. LOL.. I'd be embarrased if it was..

The SLK was just washed, the I applied OCW as I dried with a MF--it's hammered and really needs a detail. The car cam einto the shop for refill of the nitrous bottle and some other stuff, they had it washed for him as a bonus (good customer). Of course on my invoice I had a few "recommended services." "D

The M3 took about 7 hours, the range rover took about the same, but the clear bra took a little time (I am still green).

The swirls were actually what I would consider to be moderate. Sorry, no befores--I had a few cars ready to be detailed and I didn't have time.

#21 can *easily* go five months in Memphis. If you add a QD or two within that five month period, the product can go for much longer. It really needs to be left untouched for 24 hours to allow for proper curing and applying via PC will virtually eliminate any streaks that you might get when applying by hand.

RAG, since I like to do my correction in two steps (typically what the customer is willing to pay for), I try to increase the strength of the compound while staying within the "polishing" range of pads. If they want to pay for more steps, then obviously I increase the strength of the pad. These cars both had moderate swirls and though it took more passes with the OHC that if I had used a more aggressive pad, I did not have to perform another step, so it was worth for me. Does that make since?
