Looking for a wash that keeps the slickness...

QEW and DP are true rinseless washes were I am not sure if CG has a true waterless wash. The one thing cool about buying CL by the case is that is comes in 12 bottles, just a thought, have you ever used it as a QD?

The QEW is a "hose less" wash and not a car wash soap. You add an ounce per gallon of water, apply it to the paint with a mitt and then dry.

What Chemical Guys product are you talking about?

I guess I got a little crossed and off-topic. Sorry for that.

I was thinking strictly QD with my last post, not hoseless wash (though I haven't used a QEW-type product yet).

I've used CL as a detailing spray before, but I'm not fond of the soapy perfume smell. Even the meg's final detail smells better, imo. I like that CL comes in bottles already, but would prefer to give the customers small sizes and one gallon @ $20 split into 4oz spray bottles is about $1.25/ea including the bottle. If I dropped the $40 on a gallon of Mothers (which I love the smell of and think most clients would too), it's be up around $1.90/bottle.

This would be the CG QD, but they list a separate canuaba-containing QD as a waterless wash (as spoiled posted):

Thanks again for the input.

And yes, I try to search stuff out first if at all possible... I found my plastic bottles :)

Is ProtectAll's QEW that much better than other options (at $40/gal vs. $20 or so for the chemicalguys version?)

A $40 gallon of QEW is enough for 128 car washes at the 1 ounce per gallon dillution (normally, one gallon is enough to wash the average sized vehicle).

animes, that *looks* like a pretty good product. I haven't tried it at all so I can't give you a recommendation at all.

I just ordered a gallon of the TOL Bubble Bath with high hopes! I am doing a full detail on the Cobra tomorrow, so hopefully that will be the last time I will need to use NXT. Well actually I will keep it around for the initial full detail washes since it doesn clean well. I will not use it for weekly washes though.

If TOL doesn't impress me, I'll try Z7, P21S, and then QEW. Soaps are rather cheap so I'm not concerned with trying many products until I find the one I like!

TOL review to come next week...

Thanks for the suggestions guys, keep 'em coming! :)

I have QEW, DP waterless wash, and Z7 if you want to trade something. I also have a lot of TOL BB if you haven't ordered it yet, if so I think you will impressed.

Z7 by the gallon would be nice... but not for $72 (16oz/$8.95)

I don't see that happening any time soon. :)

yes! Zaino stuff by the gallon would be nice! does sal ever plan on selling things by the gallon? :)

ive tried z7 and 1z perls and give the slight edge to 1z.

Sal tried selling larger quantities a long time ago and it didn't work out well. He currently has no intentions of doing it again.

Maybe it was the wrong time for Sal to try selling large quantities, depending on how long ago that was. But if he's making money with the smaller quantities and is happy with that, there's no reason to sell large quantities at a discount...

Thomas - thanks for the PM!

I used 1Z Exclusiv today and it is a quality wash...good cleaning, slick, and leaves a nice finish. Perfect on carnaubas...use Perls for sealants.

I also use P21S which is quite slick. Poorboys Super Slick and Suds is very, very slick but the cleaning ability is not quite as good as the above two in my experience.

anyone used both griots car wash and TOL bubble bath? im thinking about picking one of these up. anyone care to comment?

I hear nice things about Griots wash.

I have tried it and I was very not impressed with it. It did not seem to sud very well at all and provide adequate lubrication and it also did not seem strong enough to clean properly.

I find the Z7 to be heads and shoulders above the Griots.:)

that I have used are Griot's Car Wash, Meguiar's #00 Hi Tech and P21S BodyWork. Their labels state specifically that they don't remove waxes and oils. They don't have much cleaning power but they sure are mild. Meg #00 is available locally.

I am not so sure how mild the Griots wash is. They claim when used straight and undilluted it will remove tar, etc. I'm not sure you could call that mild.

Just a question in general. Does Z7 remove a wax such as P21S? I know it improves a Zaino finish but how does it work with a waxed finish?
