Looking For a New Vacuum

Dear Friends

For those who are working on their own, fairly clean cars, I think the baby Shop-Vac works well. It's what I'm using right now to vacuum our van a couple of times a week. It's tiny but still comes with a wall-mount bracket.

If you are looking for just a small dry vac that has huge power, the Metro is the way to go.

No doubt, I have a one car garage at home and didnt want to leave my wetvac in there all the time so I bought a metro, well worth the price! Plus it has more suction than the wetvac.

i got rid of my ridgid and bought something different recommended by richy. a power flight vac wet dry. smaller in physical size but an amazing vacume. so very satisfied. check it out on their website. i think it was a model 52

I love the Metro. What a well built solid machine and just works so nicely. Also, anything by Numatic is a fantastic product as well.

Wow, have not seen that one, but $225 for a Shop-Vac? Looking at the stats, the small one that I have from Lowes has 60" of lift and 143CFM and only cost $40. Its 40 CFM less, but its not much of a difference IMHO to warrant almost an extra $200.

If I were to spend that coin, it would be the Metro. Same stats, but its much easier to take on a mobile job and is made out of heavy duty materials.

I know I'm late to the punch (workin alot to pay some bills...) but as far as Shop-Vac's go, bigger is not always better. I have a 20 gallon and a 6 gallon, both the same age. The 6 gallon does circles around the 20 gallon; I've pretty much put the 20 gal on shop duty. I also bought a smaller diameter hose and it definitely helps getting into tighter crevices.

Last week my vac decided to die on me. It was a Craftsman. Powerful and compact... perfect fit in my car for mobile. I was really happy with it so I went and bought the same one at Sears. What a piece of crap the new one is. Doesn't have the same power as my old one did after 4 years of service, despite being the same power ratings.

Now my PW is acting up and today my Halogen tower blew both bulbs immediately when I turned them on. I can't help wonder what will come next.
