the rigid vacs i looked at have a full lifetime warranty against material defects and workmanship, if that helps.

If you are looking for just a small dry vac that has huge power, the Metro is the way to go.
i got rid of my ridgid and bought something different recommended by richy. a power flight vac wet dry. smaller in physical size but an amazing vacume. so very satisfied. check it out on their website. i think it was a model 52

Richy has suggested a wet/dry vac that has the lift of a metro but wet/dry - PowerFlite PF51.
Last week my vac decided to die on me. It was a Craftsman. Powerful and compact... perfect fit in my car for mobile. I was really happy with it so I went and bought the same one at Sears. What a piece of crap the new one is. Doesn't have the same power as my old one did after 4 years of service, despite being the same power ratings.
Now my PW is acting up and today my Halogen tower blew both bulbs immediately when I turned them on. I can't help wonder what will come next.
