Let's get serious...Let's discuss product smells

I was recently detailing the cars when I started to think about the smells of the products that I use. What products do you guys really like the smell of...on the other hand, what products have repulsing ones. I'll go ahead start with a couple of my winners and losers (all in good fun :grinno: )



Like:

Poorboy's SS&S - very nice apple smell

Pinnacle Souveran - can't pinpoint the exact smell but seems to be a blend of coconut and fruit

Natty's Blue - very nice bubble gum smell



Dislike:

Zaino Z-1 (deep acrid smell that lingers - Zaino is known for durability..so why not its smell :) )

Collinite 476 - strong solvent smell

Any acid-based wheel cleaner - I can feel my nose begin to melt anytime I accidentally take a whiff
 
Never smelled Z1 before but every other product I have used from Zaino smells great. Same goes for Duragloss.



I dont like the smell of any Meg's products
 
NB smells pretty nice. I tried AW for the first time today, and it reminded me of glue I used to use back in elementary school :nixweiss It was also a very disappointing experience, but that's a little OT...



DP Spray sealant, while at first I wasn't sure if I liked the smell, I've come to like the funky chemical scent. Hmm... I like the smell of Meg's QID, but I don't know if there's a name for it. I smell it in nearly every car in India when I go there, so I really don't know what it is.



Plus, although I used to hate it, I suddenly found myself liking the caustic scent of EO Wheel/Tire Cleaner today. Am I getting hooked on detailing products? :nervous:



That's about it I suppose.
 
OCW is my favortie. I think it is cinnamon. Smells like warm pie. I use it on my wheels and all of my cabinets just to make the garage smell nice.

Z1 is the only one that I really don't care for...Z2 is very pleasant



Another product that I really don't like the smell of is ONR. Makes me chuckle thinking how a bad ONR smells yet it performs extremely well.
 
I dont like the smell of Long Haul Products



I like the smell of dont kill me for saying this not like it use it anymore Turtle wax, i think it smells like cake batter



and Natural Shine i think smells good
 
The smell of Z-10 is my favorite (leather in a bottle).

Simple Green smells like wet dog in a bottle.

(still love all the bad-smelling stuff though :))
 
lol if you have ever used sonus SFX polishing series you are in a tropical paradise!



SFX 1 smells like coconut

SFX 2 smells like pinapples

SFX 3 smells like blueberries (i might have mixed up sfx 1 and 2)

Swirl buster also has a tropical type smell but I cant think of it right now



RDF49 Sealant has a very faint banana smell. Dave is definately working with his tropical theme.



My AW smells like cherries... is there something wrong with mine?



Mothers QD (that comes with clay) smells like cinimon



Megs Wheel brightener smells like Grape



Sonus Paint work clenser smells like ... CLEAN! its scent is the distint smell of something clean, very soapy.



ONR smells like graphite

Z8 - smells like apricots

z16 - smells like bubblegum

Z10 - leather, leather, leather

Meg Leather wipes - doesn't smell like leather but pleasant



Dislike:

Souveran has that coconut/pineapple tropical breeze thing going on,

Z2 reminds me of cherries, sweet Queen Annes eaten while lying on a big branch high in a tree on a lazy summer day,

NXT car soap has the nice grape smell,



DG bonding agent - smells like Elmer's glue? Yup,

Castrol APC smells like Elmer.

EX-P smells pretty good. It's a coconutty smell, smells just like suntan lotion.

XMT #2 isn't bad, but can't pinpoint if it smells like anything.

XMT Finishing Glaze is good, it has a grape smell.
 
The good:

-Pinnacle Souveran

-Poorboy's EX-P(although it gets old after a while)

-Natural Look is pleasant



The bad:

-FK Pink Wax-just got my sampler kit and yuck, smells like gas

-Last Touch and Hyper Dressing are both too strong

-The Optimum polishes-all smell too chemically, gets old after polishing for 3+ hours



The ugly-

-Wheel Brightener will make you gag!

-FK Ultimate Cleaner smells really strong, even when diluted 10:1
 
NXT liquid is my fave along with the XMT Line up. Smells like a fruit basket!!!

Kiwi, key lime, lemon, orange, and grape!



Liquid Souveran smell like cake batter to me. All of the Collinites smell like a chemistry lab.

Megs #26 smells like bananas. NXT Car Wash smells like a Full Throttle Fury drink! Or maybe it's the other way around since I drink so many?



Stoners Invisible Glass smells like socks while Meg's #7 smells like a jock strap. I can like with #80 though but looks like baby poop.
