Lets Compare: CG Bare Bones vs. Meg's Hyper

I have a lot of trucks I deal with; as well as a few cars.

Most of the trucks have plastic inner fender liners; the cars have a hard-black sprayed on coating up in the wheel wells (NOT traditional tar-based "undercoating"...you can wash it like paint)...

I've been using Meg's Hyper @ 4:1 on occasion; but of course it has to be wiped down and doesn't last if 3 drops of water hits it.

How does CG Bare Bones relate in terms of easy application; overall looks and durability? Does it have a matte/semigloss finish once dried? How bad does it attract dust?

Also what about CG Fade to Black Aerosol...how well does it work for small underhood trim? Plastic wire looms drive me nuts. Meg's Hyper is fine on the bigger hard plastic surfaces but the little plastic trim elsewhere is a pain to get looking 'right'.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Dont foreget Adams undercarriage spray which I have used and CD Bare Bones too, they both do a good job, have not used hyper though, just depends on your personal preference. Some people just use regular old armorall or any type of tire shine aerosol too.

All work well, IMHO. :cooleek:

I won't start the Adam's vs. CG arguement...

Tire shine just makes a greasy mess to me though; was looking for something a little better.

Anyone else used either?

I know you didn't mention this product, but I'm really keen on it right now for fender wells....Stoner's Trim Shine. It's pretty cheap, and from my experience with it, fairly durable.

Bare Bones is great. When you spray it and walk away it takes a while to dry. You get great results when you wipe it down and you tend to use a lot less with this method. You won't be disappointed with the final results no matter what method you use.

I've sprayed Hyper Dressing 2.5:1 in wheel wells without wiping them down afterwords. It will run a little bit, but its dried without streaks for me.

I've done the same with Adam's Undercarriage spray. After it drys, it almost appears it would have turned out better if they were wiped down. I need to use this more to get a better opinion about it. Oh, and you better like your garage to smell like grape.

I have yet to try CG Bare Bones.

Yeah. The smell lasts a few days.

i just started yesterday using hyper dressing diluted 4:1 and i really like it.

Leaves a nice matte finish, without being greasy.

Seems like CG/Adam's may be worth a try.

I just don't like how my Hyper "sits" on hard, smooth plastics plus if it gets three drops of water on it; its gone.
