The key is cleaning them thoroughly after use, and letting them air dry. I usually hand-wash with a little Dawn and warm water, rinse thorougly, and sit them velcro-side-down on a few paper towels to dry.
 
Take it easy if your washing them by hand, I would fold one half over to scrub the other half and the velcro on one is starting to come loose, wont be a problem for a few more months but I will have to buy one sooner than I should.

[/b]</blockquote>Are you recommending this [rough] washing method or are you saying that you have to replace your pads more frequently than you should have to as a result of this method?
 
I was just trying to let him know, when your washing them try not to fold them over and ring them or squeeze them, keep them as flat as your can. The velcro backing will come off, I am sure some super glue can fix it but still....



Just go easy when you wash them. I highly highly suggest washing them twice, it makes a world of difference and you don't need to be so harsh on them.
 
Would it be ok to store the pads in plastic baggies intstead of washing? There may be less chance of damaging the pad and the product would not dry out. Of course I would not use the pad for multiple products.
 
Some long term exposure of the pad to these products can deteriorate the foam pads. Check out CMA site they have a tip section on caring for pads.
 
Yes, that's right, a skunk hit my garage last night and the odor sifted into my car. It's tolerable but obviously I need to get it out. I figured this is a special situation and I'm not so sure what can get that out aside from something like the odor remover from Griot's. Any help (speedily, please) would be much appreciated.

Maybe a tomato juice spray down..........(Kidding)

When my dog got sprayed by a skunk rinsed him in vinegar(1 to 1) and water. Worked perfectly but the vinegar will leave its own sour smell but will dissipate in a day or 2. I also use vinegar for mold and works really well on car carpets .

An easier way would be use an ozone machine and see if that works.
