Late night vs Camaro/LS400 (500whp)

Well, I'll start off with the camaro. Ended up getting there at about 5 PM, and noticed it was still on jackstands, in a very messy, single car garage. I decided to just suck it up and work around it, because its a very high profile customer, but normally, I would have walked away right there.

Car has a stroke kit of some sort and has a 250 shot waiting to go on. Right now without any nitrous or other power adders, its running at 500whp. Very nice.

I didn't get to complete the car due to time and weather constraints, so please don't mind the back bumper (was getting rained on, so only the first stage of compounding was done, so its hazy), and the rims/hood aren't entirely complete. Hood was faced with some hazing issues, and the rims were just wiped down due to the shortage of time.

I'll go back once it gets back from exhaust, (having some big *** SLP tips up out the back clip).

Process:

-Automagic Synthetic cut via rotary and yellow cutting pad.

-PB SSR2.5 via PC cutting pad

-Since I'm waiting on my Optimum, I purchased some mild abrasive from automagic (I'm not sure of what it is) via rotary

-SSR 2 on everything except for the hood (need to complete it).

-Souverean

-Dress It Right on tires (dear god I love the look, and 2 month durability)

Befores: (It was late already, so time was a factor)

Can tell its a track car

Nasty swirls and hazing from cloths being dragged around on it.

And afterwards at 1 am!

SC400 coming up

Now the SC400. Got home at 1 am after working on the camaro, slept for 4 hours, got up to pick up the car at 6 am. Phew, I was exhausted already.

Condition was VERY BAD!!!! Swirls were the toughest I've ever encountered. Got it looking pretty spiffy though. Not bad for a 11 year old stock paint job.

Process:

New Car Solvent took care of the tar ect.

Synthetic Cut via rotary and wool pad

SSR 2.5 via rotary and PC polishing pad (man that worked great!)

SSR 2 via pc and polishing pad

Awsome gloss

Interior got some leather scent, wolfegang conditioner and dress it right on the dash and such.

Engine bay was degreased and dressed with dress it right cut 1:1.

Ya, sweet work on the SC. Sometimes it's just unrealistic to get everything, but the paint looks 99% better - nice deep red! Interior looks really nice too.

Inside and out, the Lexus looks incredible! I wouldn't feel too bad about not being able to get every single swirl out, sometimes it just isn't going to happen no matter what you do. The main thing is how huge the improvement is, especially based on what you started with. The Camaro looks pretty good too, bet it'll look better when you can get it off the stands and outside. :)

Thanks everyone. Ya, I definatly don't feel bad about not getting everything out. With the combo I had there, I'm doubting anything else would have come out without sacrificing paint life too much.

Steve,

The SC400, hows the paint job? soft or hard? Have you try out other brand of polisher beside the SSR? I bet Powergloss will remove those little marring.

It was extremely hard. (repainted). Beyond Audi hardness I'd say.

First rate work as always Steve! The Camaro looks great but the Lexus is outstanding. I'd let you work on anything I owned any day. Fantastic! :goodjob

Update!

Owner of the camaro had taken the exhaust shop this morning and everyone complimented him on the new paint job. Score for me!
