Background: I have a 2011 carbon black bmw 550i. The paint is extremely soft. My previous wash method involved a foam cannon and two bucket method using sheepskin wash mitt, leaf blower then light waffle towel dry. Waffle weave was from pakshak and was visually free of debris and soft.
I noticed light marring in the direction of washing/drying. I switched from wash mitt to grout sponge and washed in the opposite direction. After inspection, I found new light marring in the new direction.
I now pre-rinse with a pressure washer and hose water, wash panel by panel using a grout sponge with ONR mixed with DI water, then pressure wash rinse using DI water. I then dry with leaf blower. I am not finding any new marring and really like this wash method. Its easy, not too time consuming and the only time I touch the paint is with a sopping ONR grout sponge.
Its about time to reapply sealant. The car was Zaino'd. I intend on using Klasse AIO as a prep and removal of the old LSP and then Blackfire sealant. My concern is MF inducing marring. I have contacted pakshak for recommendations and was told MF may leave some marring.
My question is can I apply Klasse AIO and remove it with an ONR wash with DI water and DI pressure washer rinse? Will this affect durability or appearance.
Same question for Blackfire, but I believe I read no water after Blackfire until it cures (12+hours) I wouldn't mind leaving the Blackfire on for a day and then washing with ONR and DI the next day if that would work.
Last question... How do you professionals maintain a car with extremely soft clear? You remove the marring by polishing only to create new marring with the application and removal of the LSP.
The marring isn't substantial, but due to the nature of this color, when the sun hits it, I notice it and it drives me nuts! Please help.
