It's Football Playoff Time!!!! Let's Talk!

AFC: Two road teams win

NFC: Two home teams win

Predictions for XLI: Patriots vs. Bears

Winner: Patriots....again.

What a crazy year in the NFL!!! I'm pretty sure alot of people who were betting on games this season are furious. Nothing is predictable anymore.

LT is a little baby.

Congrats pats!

I agree he stomped off like a little kid. he should show some sportsmanship.

I just read on the Charger's message board that apparently LT mentioned at a news conference he was upset because a bunch of Patriot players ran to the middle of the field at the end of the game and was mocking the Merriman lights out dance.

Jesus H. Christ. Out of my 4 favorite teams in the whole NFL; only one remains. (All 4 made it to the playoffs)

I can't believe the Pat's pulled that **** off, or the Raven's losing. I mean, seriously, OMGWTFBBQ

Saints vs pats in the super bowl, saints win, I hate the eagles fans (not all are aholes tho) that was sweet they deserve it lost:rofl

When your team teases you by making it to the playoffs 6 times and 5 times to the championship game and don't have anything to show for it....trust me....it hurts a whole lot worst than just being a fan of team that's pretty bad, in the re-building stage, etc.

Eagles fans deserve a championship.

I'll admit that there are alof of classless Eagles fans, but when we are all put in the same bunch...it get's a little irritating. We are very passionate, knowledgeable, and involved with this team to a great degree. We give respect to opposing team fans, but, the moment they start the smack talk........

Also, for the record, just so everyone know, the stupid snowball thrown at Santa story that never seems to die, it happened like over 40 years ago and was actually a harmless act by a few crazy fans. If I hear about that story again.....:grrr Fans with every team do alot of classless acts, but for some reason, Philadelphia is the only fan base mentioned?

This year nobody expected the Eagles to be where they are with Mcnabb and Kearse being out. Therefore, us fans are somewhat forgiving for this year given the low expectations.

Sorry, but this is the best Chargers team ever, and they will go all the way.

How does that crow taste this morning? :sign

Next on the agenda: coralling the Colts

New England Patriots, baby!!!

Baby is nicer than what I was calling him. Here's a clue. Rhymes with witch. I thought that was abysmal sportsmanship at the end of the game.

As for the Bears, there were a lot of mistakes made during the game but they won. On to the Saints.

Tom Brady has to be the coolest pressure quarterback in the league. That guy should be flying fighter jets. Unreal.

Bill Parcells has never been the same without this Belicheck dude, his staff has so far out thought and out coached two sets of coaches who had more talent at their disposal than they had.

Manning is going to have to do something great to get past this bunch!

Well the Pats have screwed the networks again. No team west of the Mississippi is left in the playoffs. I guess Sean Merriman can join Jason Taylor eating some Popcorn and watching the playoffs. Did he play yesterday?????:chuckle:

:goodjob Go Pats!!!!!!

…Next year, they get Kearse, Mcnabb, and some other key players back from injury. If the Eagles fix the d-line and the linebacker position, a un-defeated season would not suprise me.

You must still be a bit delirious from the loss. :) I’ll go out on a pretty solid limb and claim that the Eagles won’t even make it out of the East undefeated.

IMO your team improved by the old “addition by subtraction. Got rid of T.O., and even though the McNabb loss wasn’t planned, it appears that they were a better team without him (5-5 record with and 5-1 record without). That isn’t to say that Garcia is a better quarterback than McNabb, which I don’t believe, but the offense reportedly was much better balanced, and the record speaks for itself.

You are correct though, the best team did win that game. One comment for all that have criticized Bush’s toughness, could you believe the hit he took from Brown (IIRC)? Dang!

For the record…;) the fans booed Santa, the snowball incident was 20 odd years later and the snowballs were launched at Jimmy Johnson and the Dallas Cowboy’s bench. He coached Dallas from ’89-’93. The Philadelphia fans have earned their less than stellar reputation. They are, to my knowledge, the only team in the league where the general bad behavior was so prevalent that they had to establish a courtroom on-site to process the criminal element.

I didn’t see the LT incident, but it sounds reminiscent of a similar incident that occurred in Texas Stadium when T.O. was showboating on the Star in the center of the field. George Teague went and “explained that kind of disrespect wasn’t going to fly “in my house. I agree that kind of nastiness (showboating, excessive celebration) goes on entirely too often. In this case after a particularly disappointing loss, LT apparently let his emotions get the best of him. Not that it was right, but he is, from what I have seen and read, a very classy guy who gives and enormous amount back to the community. If you want to call him a baby, you should extend the same to those NE players who obviously can’t grasp the concept of being a gracious winner.

Sniff, Sniff, I smell a Cowboy's Fan!! :D

I'm not defending idiotic behavior by Eagles fans, my problem is when people have a tendency to just place an immediate stereotype on ALL Eagle's fans and also act like the bad one's are the only fans in the NFL that act like idiots. The on-site courtroom was in the Vet which has been torn down btw. Lincoln Financial Field is alot better, and the fans are alot civil and have been for several years now.

As far as the state of the Eagles next season, the Eagles' front office have a tendency of doing some pretty questionable things during the offseason. We'll see what happens this time around. As I said, if you put the right pieces together, you can't deny the Eagles will be a dominant team. The only thing that would prevent one from seeing it are divisional rival fans. :chuckle: The defense is the biggest weakness. It could be fixed by adding a playmaking linebacker, a bigger d-linemen, and a taller cornerback. On offense, I think they just need to add a big fullback, re-sign Stallworth, and stick to the offensive game planning (running the ball more) they had during the latter half of the season.

I am a Texan, so that wouldn't be too hard to figure out now would it :D

Hey "put the right pieces together", that can be said about just about any team in the NFL. It it depends on what you call a dominating team, you mentioned undefeated earlier. The only thing that could help one see that is an over zealous (and dreaming) fan :chuckle: Don't you already have a playmaker LB in Trotter? What's wrong with Jones? I think your other LB is a pretty young guy. Isn't your d-line fairly young as well? And your d-line isn't that small either, except the 2 outside guys which are still 270+. It would seem that you have a pretty good mixture of size + speed. And what more do you want from your corners? It seems that Brown and Sheppard handle themselves pretty well most of the time. Cornerback height doesn't mean a thing, if they can't cover. And you've got Dawkins. I don't know that adding a FB will do anything for ya'll. Lot's of single back backfield offenses doing OK out there today.

You still have to play the Dallas Cowboys, NY football Giants, and the Washington Redskins. I still feel pretty confident saying the Eagles won't get out of that dvision undefeated.

You could have been a fan of the Texans or maybe the nearby Saints or even the Falcons. Your tone sounds very familiar to the several Cowboy fans I myself and other Eagles fans encounter on a daily basis over on the Eagles message board which gave me the clue. At least you're not like the Cowboy fans around the Philly area.....obnoxious would be a compliment. :chuckle:

1.Don't you already have a playmaker LB in Trotter?

We need a better outside linebacker. Trotter is getting older but still plays pretty good. It would be nice to possibly draft a MLB and start grooming him to take Trot's position in the future. Alot of us like Omar Gaither. If our d-line plays better, it'll make the lb's and cb's a whole lot better.

2.What's wrong with Jones? :grinno:

Are you kidding me? If I see the terrible banjo playing again I'm going to scream. Jones is okay, but misses alot of tackles and blows coverage.

3. Isn't your d-line fairly young as well?

We need a huge big fat gravy sweating lineman in the middle to help with run-stopping. With Kearse coming back, that should help with the pass rush, the way it was in the beginning of the season.

4."I think your other LB is a pretty young guy."

Considine is small and can not tackle. He gets knocked around by tight ends like no tomorrow.

5. "It seems that Brown and Sheppard handle themselves pretty well most of the time."

I have no problem with Sheppard...at all. Brown I may question here and there but for the most part, he's pretty good. Getting some depth with a taller CB WHO CAN COVER would help going against guys like Burress, etc.

6. "And you've got Dawkins."

Never in a million years would I doubt Dawk. I have no problem with the Strong Saftey position.

7. "I don't know that adding a FB will do anything for ya'll. Lot's of single back backfield offenses doing OK out there today."

With the Eagles offense and the fact that they definitely would want to make sure Westbrook stays healthy, adding a big back would be ideal for those goal line situations, 3rd and short situations, etc.

8. "You still have to play the Dallas Cowboys, NY football Giants, and the Washington Redskins. I still feel pretty confident saying the Eagles won't get out of that dvision undefeated"

Possibly that won't happen and as you have seen in recent years, possibly it will. The Eagles lost one divisional this past season....which they should have actually won but took a nap in the fourth quarter. Three road divisional wins back to back speaks volume of what the Eagles mean in the NFC East.

Next year will be very interesting indeed. Honestly, I could see the same scenario next year with the either the Cowboys or Eagles taking the East.

BTW, I'm a realist. I call things the way I and every one else see them, rather it be good or bad for this team. Come Sunday, I drink the beer not the kool-aid.
