Is Zaino customer service usually rude?

I'm not familiar with Zaino nor their CS dept, and it's not an excuse for how the rep was rude to you but I'm gonna guess the rep was just having a bad day, maybe it was late in the day, who knows. I worked for years as Help Desk assisting hundreds of CS reps and as nice as I was (I was one of the most-liked Help Desk analyst by the reps) I have to admit that sometimes, with some of the reps I had to be a bit short and to the point to resolve the situation in the quickest manner possible. It's a repetitive job where you answer the same questions day in, day out so eventually it gets to the best of reps.

If a company was not known for their customer service, you'd hear a lot more complaints about it. So IMO you got bad service from one rep, but it doesn't necessarily mean the company as a whole is bad.

Every time I go to McDonald's, 4 out of 5 times they will screw up my order when I ask for 2 double cheeseburgers, 1 with no pickle or ketchup. The funny part is there's a sticker on the outsaid that says, "Double Checked for Accuracy", so it takes 2 idiots to screw up my order. I could get pissed off about it and never give them my business again, but apparently they must do something well enough if I still go back to them. Same thing with Walmart. These people you're dealing with have $hitty jobs that pays minimum wage. I just give them a break because there's bigger things to worry about in life than whether the kid at Mickey D's messed up my cheeseburger.

BTW Goofy, bashing a vendor is strickly against forum policy.:bat

Come on...Take off your Zaino hat and let the guy make a post. Some people take their Zaino love way to serious if someone even remotely brings up a possible problem with the products or company.

I have to agree that it could be because of the cultural/regional differences.

The reps that I talked to hated dealing with the dealers from NY because many were so blunt and rude. The reps liked how nice the Southerners were, but at the same time they were considered to be a little "slow" and "stupid".

All I can say is that Sal is a very very nice guy.

I guess everyone will experience bad customer service every once in a while.

I'm don't think it was a cultural thing. Not that I haven't had issue with the bluntness of New yorkers (some of which are good friends), But while I am always polite, I do get to the point quickly because I hate when people ramble on with me. I just did not see/recognise the products, so didn't think I had them.

I agree that he was having a bad day.

I deal with supplier factories all over the country. There are a couple of states that happen to both start with 'New' and are on the east coast that tend to have rather blunt CS reps. Not saying it's all of them, but it's a cultural thing. No BS, get to the point, and take care of it. When I first encountered it, it bothered me. Doesn't anymore, just a different style.

Best CS reps (as a rule)? Northeast (basically anything north of New Jersey / New York).

I could almost guarantee this plays a large role in this situation.

Where is it bashing? He is merely stating his customer service experience. Where in his post was anything remotely derogatory??

Derogatory-tending to lessen the merit or reputation of a person or thing; disparaging; depreciatory: a derogatory remark.

that's exactly what the OP is doing, calling Zaino customer service rude and saying he'll probably take his business elsewhere.......even if it was true, it's still derogatory posting without even trying to communicate it to Sal first?

This is what your rules say:

Flames or Derogatory Insults

Flames or derogatory insults are strictly against the rules. If you disagree with another member's point of view, do so in a mature and civil manner. If someone posts to discuss their personal problems or seek help from other forum members, please do not respond unless you have something positive or helpful to add. If you find yourself being flamed or insulted by another member, please do not dignify that person with a response. Notify a moderator and let us handle it. If you feel you must respond to a flame or insult directly, please do NOT do so on the board. Use private messages or e-mail.

You all can call me what you like, but I make it a point not to make derogatory comments against other brand names that I've used that aren't that great (yet others swear by them) but when it comes to Zaino, it seems as if it's all of the sudden okay.:grinno:

No, I don't get paid by Sal or any compesation either, that's not why I'm defending it. Sometimes it just seems like these forums are bias.

Oh yeah I had CS jobs in college and by far the worst people to deal with were from NY, NJ, SC and MS. The nicest were ID, MT, UT, KS, IA, NE.

However, he was a bit blunt and didn't always let me finish my sentences. Sure, it seems rude, but maybe that's just the way they talk over there.

It isn't personal, that is the way people are up there. I have a customer from the Boston area that is the same way. He doesn't even realize he is rude because that's how everyone is in his area.

I have had nothing but the best service when it comes to dealing with Sal himself, he's a great guy that's very passionate about car care.

I understand his help get's a little frustrated with so many people calling his place of work asking for samples, making false claim, etc etc etc, not to mention...it's Jersey, gimme a frickin break uh.

If you want answers ask for Sal, let him know you're unhappy with something and see what he can do to fix it.

that reminds me , i emailed some questions a weeks or so back and they never bothered to reply

and in the past when i have asked questions the reply was always that i used too much, they never seemed overly keen to make zaino work for me

I agree that it can get to people or people can have rough days, but as CS anywhere it's part of the job description to be nice to people. Hell, that goes for any job. When I come to work I separate my personal life from work life. That's just my theory.
